Remember that moment?


The two of us


Striding in delight


Away from the sun


Towards the moon





 


I hid the urge


To speak the words


That whispered in the trees


The lavender breeze


Entwining my thoughts


To ease clarity


Through discretion





 


And before we spoke


We touched


We felt


Reigniting the world


Through our weakened souls





 


The dancing divinity


Of the heart's chasm


Filling with fluidic gesture


That can yield no binds


To the sheeted sky





 


And like all that came before


The journey had ended


You were gone


And I remained





 


Trying to catch the fading image


Of your sweet smile


I laid there


Until the moon shone over me


To light the broken path


Shaped by my hands


Crafted through despair


Forged in fear





While the world sleeps


I lie awake


To wait for your return


And give you the heart


I had been saving for so long





 


But I must submit to reality


And continue where I left off


Time will close the gap


Even if it is a universe apart
