# A New Life Chapter 3: Surprise!!

here is chapter 3, once again a rather short chapter but its still relatively good I hope :P

I was freezing. I opened my eyes and was shocked by the fact that my muzzle was...gone. I jolted up and looked into the mirror. Staring back was the skinny human form I had almost forgotten (plus a tail of course). I quickly pinched myself to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. I felt a slight sting as well as some amusement because of the fact. I sniffed the air instinctively and found that my sense of smell was as good as it had ever been, and I could hear The TV on downstairs even though my door was oddly closed. I got up and had reached the door when I realized something. For the first time since I had been bitten I was... self-conscious. I darted to the dresser and pulled out some clothing. I soon found the pants (and boxers) to be very uncomfortable so I extracted a small pocket knife from my bedside table and "edited" them. I walked out of my bedroom wearing a hoodie, my tail conveniently sticking out of a newly formed hole in the back of my jeans. I paused for a moment and pondered on what to do next. I walked quietly to the door of the guest bedroom and knocked on it lightly, I knew that Kiki had heard me for she responded.

 \*Alex, I'm trying to sleep!\*  
 "Well that never stopped you from waking me up" I said, It sounded awkward...  
 \*Fine... come in\* she told me, sounding tired. I opened the door and stepped in. Kiki looked at me with blurry eyes which opened to their full extent as she took in my new form.  
 \*Alex!!\* she cried and before I knew it she crashed into me, sending me sprawling on the floor were she began to lick every inch of my face. I got up and hugged her before walking to the door.  
 \*where are you going?\* Kiki asked.  
 "well I have to show Samantha." As I left I heard Kiki start to walk with me. I looked at her, curious.  
 \*I want to see the look on her face!\* she exclaimed. When we got downstairs, Samantha and Joey were sitting on the couch, when I came into their view Samantha's face became riddled with surprise.  
 "A-Alex! Your a-a human again!"  
 "Not exactly" I said as I motioned towards my tail. She giggled slightly, but then a shocked expression appeared on her face, followed by a sinister smile!  
 "you know what this means?" she said evilly.  
 "n-no..." I replied  
 "It means that you get to go back to school!" Now I was scared! I stepped back in fear, Then Samantha burst out laughing...  
 "whats so funny?" I asked.  
 \*Alex its July...\* Kiki explained, it was then that it dawned on me. School had been out for a while. I breathed a sigh of relief.  
'Man, I really need to be more observant' I thought to myself. I darted to the kitchen and grabbed some of the leftover pizza from the night before, and quickly devoured it. Suddenly a growling sound came from behind me. I turned to find Eric glaring at me.  
 "Good morning Eric" I said as I walked up to him. He lunged and bit my hand. The next thing I knew I'd wrestled the snarling wolf to the ground and was growling quite loudly myself.  
 "Eric its me...Alex!" I managed to say through clenched teeth and my own anger. He froze...almost as the words left my mouth. I got up off the floor and shook the dust from my clothes.  
 \*Alex...I-I'm so sorry...I-I didn't recognize you...I-I'm sorry\* He said, his voice echoing through my mind.  
 "You do realize I have a tail right"  
 \*hehehe...\* he laughed. I eyed him suspiciously  
 "Whats going on?" I said.  
 \*nothing...hey...um...wanna go swimming\* he asked  
 "Um What about Tristan?" I replied.  
 \*uh...he's not going to mind...hehe...and I really want to go swimming!\*  
 "okay..." I stated "...but after I eat I'm starving!" I continued my rampage on the pizza before heading to the living room...  
 "Me and Eric are going swimming...you wanna come Kiki?" I asked  
 \*No I'm fine\* she replied. I headed upstairs and found Eric fully dressed in clothing that Samantha had found in the old clothing box. I pulled out a pair of red swimming trunks before looking at Eric, he looked back.  
 "some privacy please..." I stated  
 "oh sorry" he left and I got changed...

 After a few uneventful hours of swimming, we turned the corner to find my sisters house deserted looking. When we got to the front door, I found the hidden key and opened the door.  
 "SURPRISE!!!"
