One day, I was a child. Then I grew up.

As a child I didn't believe there were second chances
Everything was done, to ensure I caused no wrong.
High expectations from everyone; parents, teachers, students
Risk stood by me, and we wandered down the path of conformance.

One thought led to another
and it all moved so quickly, so fast.
A teenager: isolated, confused, betrayed of all he thought once true
He ran down the path, the path of doubt.

I thought again once more of what they had wanted,
a stereotypical ideal, 'the dream life'.
Until I realised that it wasn't about what they wanted.
So I drew my own path, stood, and walked.
