If only but for a second,  
could I look into your eyes,  
then no evil could hold it's sway.  
  
If only but for a minute,  
could I taste your lips upon mine,  
then for this I surely pray.  
  
If only but for an hour,  
could I hold you in my arms,  
then all my pain would fade away.  
  
If only but for a time,  
could I know your love,  
then by your side will I stay.
