All governments have fallen and there is no means of\n\ntransportation other than horse and wagon. The rich and powerful are now weak and poor\n\nand few people are safe; even fewer know what made this happen. Everyone strives for a new form of\n\nenergy and everything is hell.\n\nIt all started in a little town in Oklahoma. It's name long forgotten by all but who lived\n\nthere, with a man by the name of Jon Colt, though currently everyone calls him Wolfbane\n\nbecause of his wolfish personality and looks, and something that he did later on, I will get to\n\nthat part later. Jon Colt is five foot eleven inches, with gold eyes, silver hair, and\n\nsharp features, and was as sharp as a tack, and a scientist working for the DOD (Department\n\nOf Defence).\n\nJon was working in the lab, he was observing the electromagnetic waves of EMPs,\n\nwhile trying to amplify these electromagnetic waves.He had developed a device that was\n\nextremely experimental and highly unpredictable, a device which delves deep into theoretical\n\nscience.\n\nThe time had come to test his device and record his results. Little did he know what\n\nwould happen. Jon flipped on the device and let it start warming up, slowly the\n\ndevice started to hum and shake ever so slightly, Jon turned on the EMP source remotely\n\nfrom an observation room. Everything went black. Jon waited hoping that the backup\n\ngenerator would kick in soon. It didn't.\n\nOut side of the building the rest of the world was in panic. Cars stopped running,\n\nhelicopters would not start, planes crashed from the engines stopping. No one was\n\nready for this.\n\nWelcome to The Blackout\n\nFifteen years have passed, Jon is still alive and is one of the few who know what\n\nhappened the day of the black out.\n\nA hunting party went out at dawn and was expected to be back by midday. At two\n\nthat afternoon they still weren't back. The town leader had a search party sent out. Jon was in\n\nthis party. The party split up. Jon followed a game trail heading to the east, about five hundred\n\nyards in Jon found signs of a fight he called out for the rest of the search party using the call\n\nof a Whippoorwill. Fifteen minutes \u0026nbsp;later the search party arrived and set off down the trail.\n\nSoon it was evident that more than a fight happened. Danny, one of the younger\n\nhunters, laid dead on the side of the trail, there were arrows stuck in him like needles in a pin\n\ncushion. They pick up their pace jogging down the trail now, weapons out and ready.\n\nRounding a corner they find themselves in a clearing with the hunting party fighting off a group\n\nof raiders. Jon runs in two knives drawn. In a whirling dervish he starts cutting them down with\n\nthe ferociousness of a wolf, bearing his teeth like one the whole time (that is how he got the name).\n\nFinally with all of the raiders on the ground dead, Jon stopped, sheathed his knives,\n\nand calmed down. When at last he spoke he said \"Is anyone hurt?\". No one could answer\n\nafter what they had seen Jon had done. \"Miles!\" Jon said. A five foot four inches tall, brown haired,\n\ngreen eyed, bearded man stepped forward.\n\n\"Yes Jon?\" Said Miles.\n\n\"Check these men for injuries.\" Said Jon.\n\n\"Yes sir.\" Said Miles.\n\n\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\n\nTo all thoughts who read this, this is only the beginning (smirks).\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"blackout","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/616529-welcome-to-the-blackout.json"}}
