Obstructions, strewn across the narrow path,
Leave no alternative but going back.
These obstacles, prevent a forward march,
It's rugged armour without hole or crack.
A barricade, inhuman guardian,
Withstands the pleas of traveler's request.
You barrier, unmoved by shouts and cries,
Denies the pilgrim's passionate behest.

The mind rebels against the wall.

Frustration builds as days amount to months,
These meager attempts
Never produce fruit.
The disappointment covers past success,
Once eager worker
Ever stagnating.

Determination guides my frozen hand
Away from failure's agonizing grasp
And pushes back at spiteful thought blockage -
Though moving onward
May still feel awkward.

By striving I shall break this artist's curse,
With measured steps to lift lingering pall.
This torment can't outlast perseverance,
I'll adjust sadness
Until it's gladness.

Struggle with the wall.

I'll find another way
And break this addled day,
Alternative passage
Becomes my new adage.
To think my journey barred
Implies the task's too hard,
Refuse to turn around
My feet and hold my ground.

Now's the time to prepare
And plan attack with care,
No hindrance made of stone
Will shake me to the bone.
My strategy is set
On objective to get,
This hurdle I'll surmount
With steady rhythmic count.

I'm on a one-way accelerator
And there is no chance
I can slow it down.
My trajectory keeps me going on
And here I'm running
Shy of breaking sound.

The wall falls.

The barrier is breached
And other side is reached,
My effort finds reward
Behind that rocky board.
This momentary peace
With creative release,
I sit and write my thought
On that which struggle brought.

But I must journey forth
Toward poetic north,
To where my compass shows
I'll bask in overflows.
My craft will lead the way
Into inventive day,
For now I must survive,
And keep my art alive.
