The trick in it is to make it as classic as possible while staying as original as possible. After part 3, the story will continue to be updated daily until Christmas.\nThe Corporate will be dedicated to a certain someone I know whose had a rough few weeks lately. Once it's complete, the story will be there Christmas gift in hopes of cheering them up.","content":"The Winter Chronicles\n\nDecember of 2013\n\nThe Corporate: Part 1 of 8\n\nThis is the story of a man named Harold. Harold was the top man\n\nof a large and widely successful corporation. With all of the power and fame that came with the job,\n\none might think Harold to be happy. But he wasn't.\n\nFor years, Harold had been searching. He had been searching within himself for some piece,\n\nsome vital part of him, that had been missing. It was agonizing without it. If only he could figure\n\nout what it was. This missing part of him had haunted him. And it was only the power he held over\n\nsociety that kept him from simply ending it all.\n\nPower. It was a beautiful word to Harold. And he needed as much of it as he could lay his\n\nhands on. It was his right, after all. Because who was it that fought through the ranks of a large\n\nand busy company? It was him of course! For who other than he could deserve such a title as CEO?\n\nNobody. Yes, it was his! Everything was his and if only everyone else could see that and then maybe,\n\njust maybe, he could be happy.\n\nThe winter months had been raging. The snowfall was reaching record numbers this year. It was\n\nsnowing now, as Harold trudged along through the muck and slush on the sidewalks. Harold hated the snow.\n\nIt was one thing about winter that he despised bitterly. It was cold and wet but worst of all it meant\n\nsomething worse than the snow itself. The snow meant that everyone else would be happy.\n\nHe had never understood it. How could they be so happy? How could anyone bear to smile at the\n\nbitter chill of the icy winds or the slop of the muddy slush? This disturbed Harold greatly. And he\n\nwould get angry. He hated it. It wasn't fair that everyone but him could be happy. But now, as Harold\n\napproached his apartment door, it would soon be over. Soon, the snowfall would fade away and with it so\n\nwould the smiles. And then it would be Harold's turn to smile. Because then, and only then, could they\n\nfeel just as Harold felt now. Harold let the thought sink as he entered his apartment and went about the\n\nrest of his day.\n\n  \n  \n\n","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/633611-the-corporate-part-2-of-8.json"}
