I am human
days lived count easier than the mistakes I've made
Dragging my shoes through my escapade

A wanderer
With no destination in sight
I lift up my face but drop my eyes
For the skies hold nothing for someone like me

wannabe
a stranger keeping your pace
eagerly talking and taking your praise
only to hide behind dresses of lace

injured
scars that you cannot see
I'm riddled with cuts, jabs and open wounds as big as the sea
heart held together with nothing but string
skin concealing
always healing
yet they remain

Yet I am no victim

I am human
living the day by the day
hoping, wondering of the end of the age
wishing for nothing but an open cage

I am human
yearning for warmth and touch
taking always all too much
desperate to be wanted, loved.

I am human...
