#6 of Poems

Went to see The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug at the movie theater today and I loved it. I especially loved Smaug because dragons are awesome. I haven't seen the first movie, I haven't seen Lord of The Rings, and I haven't read any of the books, but I was so inspired that I just had to write a poem about Smaug. Although I will be watching the movies and reading all the books after this. I did some research to make sure I got things right so I hope someone likes it!

> Smaug the Magnificent
>
> * * *
>
> Who dares rouse the dragon?
> The terrible drake who sleeps on beds of gold?
> Who dares come close the mighty lord?
> The dreadful beast who breath is molten flames?> Who dares defy the king under the mountain?
> Who is bold enough to steal from his hoard?> Show yourself thief!
> Come closer. Come into the light.
> You dare to come this far.
> Come where Smaug the Terrible can see you.> Will you brave the wrath of a king?
> The one whose scales are like a shield of iron?
> His teeth are swords, his claws are spears.
> His tail is a thunderbolt and the sound of his
> wings like those of a hurricane.> Should you live long enough to see his fiery breath
> then you will stare down the throat of death itself.> Come to Erebor if you dare.
> Come all of you!
> Come face the beast of fire.> Stare into his golden eyes and see if the
> tales of his glory ring true.> Look into the eyes of a dragon who has
> lived for centuries and leveled great fortresses of stone.> See the iron-like scales of Smaug who
> drove even the dwarves from their home.> He is fire and he is death.
> His breath will be the last you see
> and his voice the last you hear.> Come into the light if you dare
> and see Smaug the magnificent,
> the terrible, the tyrannical.> Will you run away?
> Or will you stand and fight?
> Will anyone live to tell the tale
> of the great dragon's might?> His eyes know every coin
> and even the smallest of gems.
> Nothing goes unnoticed by the king
> not even the smallest stolen trinket.> You will not stop him with swords or axes.
> A rain of black arrows is useless in the
> hands of whose aim is not true.> Pour upon him a sea of gold and
> even still Smaug will arise into the night
> to take revenge on those who dare to defy him.> He is fire.
> He is death.
> He is king under the mountain.> So come closer.
> Come into the light.
> Stare into the eyes of death.
> See the serpent whose body burns with fire.> Gather your courage.> Gather your arrows.> Steady your aim.> Prepare for the fight for your lives.> Prepare to face death itself.
