This could end up being a ten or fifteen part series, it mainly\ndepends on what happens from here on out. This is definitely a romance story\nand it will have Mature rated violence and anthro dragons lovin on one another,\nso be warned. Also, many thanks to Samuel Triago for being so supportive of me\nin my first few months on this site.\n \nIf you want me to make a one shot\nfor you, just send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. Pretty much any ideas\nare allowed, just be specific with what tags and topics you want in it so I'll\nknow what you want, but besides that you can be as vague as you want.\n \nALL CHARACTERS AND IDEAS ARE MY OWN!\n \n \nShadow\nChronicles; Legends of the Damned\nChapter 1\nThe Chosen\n \n \n \nI awoke to total blackness with a\njolt, sitting upright and grabbing at the air around me, desperately trying to\ngrasp something, anything to quell this falling, almost empty feeling in the\npit of my very soul. When I realized there was nothing for me to touch but the\ncold earthen floor, I calmed slightly, stilling my nerves now that I knew I\nwasn't plummeting into emptiness. But how did I get here, and where exactly was\n\"here\".\n \nI\ntried to stand but failed and crashed back to my knees. My legs were numb,\nfeeling nearly nonexistent, but when I rose again, they held firm and I stood\non shaky feet. Twisting my head to the side, I felt a pressure relieving crack\nin my neck, like I hadn't moved in hours from my flattened position.\nExperimentally, I moved the rest of my body to see if they'd respond.\n \nAfter\na few moments of limbering my body up, I reassured myself that everything was\nnormal and present, yet something odd caught my attention as I looked around.\nIt seemed as if there was some source of light in this tunnel like room I was\nin. But it was no ordinary light; it lacked the pure white color of sunlight\nand the yellowish hue of a florescent bulb. It was red, outlining objects\naround me with a faded crimson aura, similar to.... Night vision! I had night\nvision! But no, it was different, natural even, like I'd had this ability my\nwhole life and I was already becoming extremely familiar with it. The rocks and\nwalls were becoming more clear, losing their red tint and looking more\nnaturally lit, like a sun was descending from the rocky ceiling, but the red\naura around everything remained, giving a kind of distinct blood red outline to\neverything I saw.\n \nI\nsoon pushed the thought to the side and focused on the more intriguing elements\nof my predicament. It appeared I was inside a cave, but not an average cave\nwith stalactites reaching down from the ceiling and little stalagmites pointing\ntowards the roof, instead there were pillars of marble that connected the\nceiling and floor together. And these pillars seemed to be intricately\ndesigned, similar to those found in ancient Rome, with elaborate figures and\ncreatures carved into the top and bottom slabs that attached to the ground and\nfloor. The marble the pillars were made of wasn't the natural tan or ivory, it\nwas jet black like obsidian, with a faded purple shade to it and that glossy,\nungodly gleam on its smooth surface. For some odd reason, they were all placed\nin a perfect circle around me, forming what looked like an alter around me. A\nsingle column stood in the center of the others, thicker and taller than the\nothers and appearing to have a dark purple aura emanating from it, reaching out\nnearly three feet before fading into the blackness of the air.\nWhen\nI walked up to the center one and carefully glided my hand down its surface, a\nbolt of cold electricity jumped from it and passed through my arm at an\nagonizing speed, almost like water running down my arm. As it reached my\nshoulder, it dispersed and made my arm twitch uncomfortably, and forced it to\ndo so until I grabbed my wrist and shook it violently. I looked up at the\npillar, and with my growing familiarity with my night vision, I could just\nbarely make out an oddly large symbol engraved into the surface of the column,\nbut it was extremely elaborate and expertly made, like it was carved with the\nworkmanship of a master sculpture.\nOnce\nI could make out the symbol clearly, I realized it was a creature's skull with\ntwo katana like swords crossed behind it, a set of demonic looking bat wings\nstretched outwards from the skull's sides, and what seemed like a serpent's eye\nin the center of the creature's skull. The pupil was a thin slit that ran\nvertically through the eye, but also had fire reaching outwards towards the\nedge of the irises. I soon recognized the skull's shape as that of a dragons',\nwith a bulky yet long snout and a mouth filled with serrated fangs and curved\nhorns that were located where the temples would be and on the back of the\nskull.\n \nOnce\nI had examined the symbol I decided to touch it again, and when my fingertips\ngrazed the symbol's surface, there was no pulse of icy electricity through my\narm which reassured me that it wasn't going to hurt me and I completely\nflattened my left palm onto it. After a few excruciatingly long seconds of\nnothing happening, I shrugged and tried to pull my hand off it, but my touch\nrefused to be severed and I was stuck to the pillar, jerking away from it\nviolently for several minutes but to no effect.\nAfter\nmy eleventh attempt at ripping my hand free, I felt that same jolt of freezing\nenergy build up in the pillar, and within an instant it jumped into my palm,\nbut the agony was increased tenfold. A scream left my lips but a few seconds\ninto the cry I felt my throat twitch and contract, warping my scream of pain\ninto a roar resembling that of some demonic, unholy creature. I forced my mouth\nshut and groaned, but that too changed, only it sounded exactly like the growl\nof a wolf, but even more menacing and much deeper in tone.\nI\nfelt my hand grow hot as if I were touching a stove top and more electricity\npassed into my body, making my muscles contract and literally groan from the\nweight of change. I could feel every strand of flesh on my body thicken and\ngrow, making my skin stretch to the point of being ripped off my body, and when\nit did I roared once more, blood spewing from the torn veins and forming a\nperfectly round lake of crimson on the marble floor below me. I forced my eyes\nopen to look at my blood and gasped as it darkened into a black, bile like\nliquid, bubbling and steaming until a death like scent filled the air and\nchoked me to the point of blacking out.\nThe\nblood lake twisted and rippled like something within it was thrashing around,\nstruggling with all its might to escape the black abyss. As it twisted and\nbended with unnatural speed, the lake had warped into the shape of the symbol\non the wall. Nearly the size of the entire floor, the symbol rippled as demonic\nlaughter filled my head, echoing like a battle cry through the emptiness of my\npain stricken thoughts. The eye at the center looked directly at me and the\nflames in it burst to life, reaching up off the black marble floor and burning\ndark silver, purple and black, like the flames of hell itself. The skull smiled\nand lifted itself off the floor, hovering behind me and solidifying into a real\ndragons' skull. It opened its enormous maw and roared so forcefully it tore\naway my very flesh, leaving me as nothing but a skeleton, but somehow I was\nstill alive, able to witness and experience every moment of this horrifying\nritual.\n \n\"You\nhave been judged.\" The\nagony of my bare bones being exposed to such punishing colds and extreme\npressure forced my jaw bone to fall open in a high pitched cry for mercy, but\nthe voices only grew louder, making my bones rattle and the shrine quake like\nthe world around me was coming to an end.\n \n\"You\nhave been chosen.\" Now\nthe voices were in my head, making my teeth shake free from my skull and my\neyes fall out of their very sockets, vanishing into the black abysmal lake of\nmy own blood and when it sank beneath the rippling, trembling waves, not a\nsingle shockwave from it could be seen, making it seem like it simply vanished\nfrom existence.\n \n\"You\nhave been destroyed.\" I\nfelt another shockwave of energy blast through my body and literally blow my\narms and legs out of their sockets, and when my limbs touched the black lake\nbelow me, they burst into dark purple and black flames, scorching the pillars\naround me until they had molten surfaces.\n \n\"And\nnow, Samiel of earth... You will be Reborn!\" Every fiber of my being, what little\nremained, screamed to the heavens in pain, trembling so violently that they\nbegan to crack, purple and black fire bursting from them and engulfing my\nentire body.\n \n\"WHY!?! Why\nis this happening!?!\" I managed to wheeze even though my vocal cords were\nnonexistent at this point of the ritual, or whatever this satanic event was\nunfolding around me.\n \n\"You\nare the Remn Ortif. The Descendant of the Dimas Hahde and you are the last of\nyour lineage.\" Somehow,\nthe terms this voice was using sounded familiar somehow. No, they were becoming\nfamiliar, like experience with such people it spoke of was being channeled into\nmy screaming mind, literally giving me memories!\n                My bones continued cracking to\nthe point of falling to dust, my entire skeleton was shattered into a million\npieces yet some dark force was keeping the shards of my frame from falling to\nthe ground, instead making them hover in place where they would naturally be.\nInstead of seeing the yellowish bone marrow inside the center of my bones, I\nsaw pitch black and purple flames swirling around in the exact same place where\nthe marrow would be, completely replacing the tissue with demonic flames that\nseemed to absorb the light around me.\n                Suddenly, my chest was jerked\nupwards and my rib cage was completely ripped from my body, the bone fragments\nspraying in every direction but still leaving the purple and black structure\nthat lied within them. Another heavy jerk on my left arm and the bone fragments\nwere once again ripped away, revealing the purple and black flaming columns\nthat were now my bones. A few great yanks later, and my entire skeleton was\nnothing but a flaming structure that silently howled in pain.\n \n\"We\nwill reveal to you your greatness, and the hidden power you have been blessed\nwith. But... you are young. Too young for the task ahead. The future will be\nchallenging and the sorrow you have yet to endure is far worse than any you\nhave ever experienced.\"\n \n\"What do\nyou mean?! I'm not great at anything, I'm a nothing! You're saying you're going\nto put the power of a god in the hands of a failure!\" My voice was now distant,\nlike I was listening to a live recording of myself from far away. The voice of\nthe power that now had me at its mercy was louder, deeper, so filled with\nenergy it seemed to flow from every word in to the very core of my soul.\n \n\"Ah...\nbut you are not as flawed as you believe. You understand your own fate as we\nhave foreseen it. You know that godlike power will be bestowed upon you, and we\nhave not even begun to explain such things. You knew in your heart, before your\nlosses, before your seclusion, before any of your perceived failures, that\nthere was always a greatness about you that no one, not even yourself, could\nsee. That you were destined for something impossible yet fantastic in every way\nand that this destiny was going to change everything about you. You mind, your\nbody, your heart, everything was going to be changed and you knew it was going\nto be for the better. This is why we have chosen you out of the thousands of\nyour kind; because you see the hidden potential within and you know that it was\ngiven to you by beings greater than any from your world, and for reasons they\ndeemed righteous and pure.\"\n \n\"I can't!\nYou don't know what you're doing! I may be the angel you sent for but I'm also\nthe demon you fear, the beast that dwells within the shadows of my soul has\nbeen taking control! For the past 3 years I've felt such malice for my own kind\nthat I'd rather see them burn them save them from damnation! Stop this before\nyou grant a monster the ability to slaughter as he always dreamed of!\" My wails\nof freedom were hollow, almost nonexistent altogether as the flames that\nresembled my skeleton began to flash brighter and brighter, until it was\nimpossible to see anything anymore.\n \n\"You\nmisunderstand. This is not a choice for you to make. This is our final act\nwhile residing in this plane of existence. You are our only option, and such a\ndire action on our part is forbidden amongst our kind. You will bear the burden\nof evil incarnate whilst controlling the very light that brought life to the\ncosmos. This is all we will say, and this is the last you will hear of us. Now\narise, Adouro Tenshiado; spawn of the Ethernal Madrian, the Titan imprisoned\nwithin a mortal, the hound of the elder gods and embodiment of Chaos itself! Frange\nOnk Seev Kailite Liga Aomen Unyord!\"\n \n                Suddenly, the entire earth began\nto shake, the obsidian pillars seemed to radiate an aura of cold that chilled\nme to the depths of my very being. My figure shivered, quaking like it was\nbeing strangled by the right hand of god himself. The runes that adorned the\nboiling black floor began burning an unnatural red and purple flame, the very\ncarving rising up and off the surface they were engraved on and circling around\nme like a demonic ritual, each one seeming to radiate a different tune of evil.\n \n                I wailed to the heavens but was\nonly answered with more earth rumbling power that appeared before me in the\nshape of that same draconic symbol that was engraved in the center pillar and\non the floor, but now it terrified me even more because the dragon skull in the\ncenter of the symbol began to laugh in a low, almost growling tone. Its eyes\nglowed like the flames of hell itself and as I gasped raspy breaths to try and\nsoothe my nerves, the symbol bolted towards me with the speed of lightning.\n \nIt\nstopped a moment before passing through my flaming skeletal form and then it\nshrieked, calling out to the other demonic forces that resided within this dark\ntemple. Its answer was the wails of a thousand tortured souls, all swirling\naround me to form a cyclone of long, pained faces that had endured the worst\nsorrows known to mankind. The cyclone tightened around me, closing in until the\nfaces were mere inches away from snuffing out the flames that resembled my\nskeleton. As the thought of being blown out as a candle surged through my mind,\nthe faces began latching onto my ignited frame, wrapping around me until I was\na figure of agonizing screams and haunted faces.\n \n                The demonic souls solidified to\nform flesh and organs, even a layer of shield like scales, each varying in size\nfrom half a foot long and a fourth foot wide to nearly three feet long and two\nfeet wide, but all of them were nightmarishly black, seeming to radiate\ndarkness itself and absorb what little light crept into the hellish temple. I\nopened my eyes for an instant to witness my transformation and as I did a\nlarge, almost liquid like silver pool of light formed in front of me and\nflattened to become a mirror with rippling edges and a solid center that\nreflected the horrific event that was befalling me.\n \nMy\nface elongated into a scaly muzzle, my ankles and knees popped and cracked\nuntil my legs resembled those of a canines', with elevated ankles and almost\nball pin shaped soles on my feet with four clawed toes on the front and a\nsingle clawed thumb appendage at the back of the foot. My chest broadened and\nthickened until it was almost six feet tall from waist line to collar bone\nalone and four and a half feet from shoulder to shoulder. My total height was now\n13 feet, with muscles evenly distributed along my frame and scaled plating that\nwas so hard it could deflect a 70 cm caliber artillery shell without even\nknocking the wind out of me or denting the scales, yet they weighed nothing at\nall, as if they weren't even there.\n                \nEvery\nfiber of my being was screaming at me as they were warped and distorted until\nmy body resembled an enormous twelve foot tall anthromorphic black dragon with\na wing span of nearly eighteen feet, and an arm span of 10 feet with a tail that\nlooked around three feet thick and eight feet long. Adding to the unnatural\nappearance of the tail, a black Chidori Jumonji Yari, or a Japanese three\npronged spear, was attached to the tip of the tail, yet it seemed to have been\ngrown out of the tail somehow, not fused or bounded, but grown from bones and\nflesh. The metal the Chidori Yari blade was made of was harder and more\nresilient that titanium alloy at its purist and the blade itself was midnight\nblack and almost 3 feet from the base where it grew out of my tail to the very\ntip of its demonic three blades, seeming to emanate the same evil as my scales,\nyet the inner sharpened edges were a dark purple color.\n                A midnight black pair of horns\njutted out from the back of my head, then curved so the pointed tips faced\nforward, reaching almost to my cheek bones before stopping. Decorated with\nungodly serrations on the outer edge, the horns were about 2 feet thick at the\nbase and four feet long if you straightened them. My long and thick muzzle was\nfilled with serrated fangs that shimmered in the low level light of the temple,\nalmost beckoning someone to come and submit as my next meal. Three foot long,\nshinning black curved claws replaced my fingernails and as I tensed my fingers\ninto a fist, they retracted to proportionately sized fingernails, except with\nsharpened, pointed tips. Four thick toes attached to the front of my now canine\nshaped legs, which seemed to be designed to taking massive amounts of impact\nand propelling the owners at a blurring speed. \n                My muscles thickened and\ncondensed, packing the strength of a body builder's entire body into every\nindividual muscle, making me feel so empowered that I felt I could fight a\nthousand soldiers. When my transformation was complete, the demonic shadows\nthat held me in the air dissolved and released me, letting me fall to the blood\nstained floor with a heavy thud. \n \nAs\nmy consciousness left me, I saw a white silhouette of a creature whose form\nlooked similar to mine, except much more feminine and graceful, like the lithe\nfigure of an angel yet combined with the attributes of a monstrous demon. It walked\nout from behind the North facing black obelisk and lean against it, turning its\nblank face towards me and looking directly into my eyes.\nIt\nwalked towards me and as its clawed feet touched the ground, small pools of heavenly\nluminance spread outwards, slowly eliminating the entire shrine in warm, pure\nwhite light. The figure stopped as it stood above me and then kneeled down with\nits hands in its lap and its head mere inches away from my own.\n \n \n\"Adouro...\nwake up... you need to find me... I'll wait for you at the Oklahman Aomen... Do not\nforget your Siham. For I will never\nforget you.\" Her voice was that of an angel, so harmonic and caring, yet passion\nempowered her every word, like the things she spoke of were the truth and had\nbeen a reality for the both of us for hundreds of years. Somehow, I understood\nwhat she was saying, the foreign sounds that escaped her perfect lips soon\nchanged into a language I knew, as if I had been speaking it all my life.\n \n\"I will\nalways love you, Seev Neira Dealien.\" She just... called me her eternal love... but...\nI don't know you... why are you calling me a lover when you don't even know me? \n                The world began swirling into\ndarkness and my eyelids became impossibly heavy. As I was blacking out, her\nface began to focus and gain features, the white silhouette vanishing the\nlonger I saw her. No! I had to see her face! I had to know who she was! I had\nto... I... had... Megami... don't leave me...\n \nAnd that's all for now ladies and\ngentleman, hope you all enjoyed, send me a PM if you have thoughts you want to\nconvey to me personally, and don't forget to leave a comment on what you're\nthinking. Thanks for all your support, and I hope this series gets a good\npublicity.\n \nSins of the\nFallen, Purity of Youth, Bring Me Damnation or Salvation through Truth"}
