# Elegant Symphony

Figured I would do one about music this time around! Just a short one containing some of my thoughts about music and what it says about people. My favorite genre is symphonic rock/metal by the way. :]

* * *

They say that you can tell a
lot about a person by what
type of music they listen to.
What types of songs they prefer.
What musical genres they like
best and what band are their
favorites.

Sometimes their choices are
a reflection of who they are.
Calm, relaxed, complex,
filled with turmoil, angry,
depressing, sad, beautiful,
happy or disturbed.

Sometimes their choices
are the total opposite of
what you would expect.

The happy preppy girl
shuns pop and prefers
metal.

The goth guy sitting of
in the corner by himself
practices opera when
he knows that no one
else is listening.

The old lady in the
supermarket drives home
blasting rap music out
of her windows.

The girl who hides her
feelings behind poems
closes her eyes to rock and
metal arranged into an elegant
symphony of sound. Because
it's complexity reminds her
of how beautiful the world
could be if only we would
take the time to listen instead
of condemning that which we
don't understand.
