# I am not I

#2 of Poetry

Started as as the first two sentences in my head, added more while writing it down.
It's about the two spirits that live as one in me.

I am not being the being who I am,  
not living the life I'm living.  
I'm but a shell, a outer layer,  
a masquerade, a rehearsed play.

To most persons I am like a mirror,  
showing just a reflection, a shard of soul.  
They see me as just another, a normal kid,  
but not the real me, if they'd only know.

Deep inside me there is another,  
another me, a me that's more feral than me.  
Together we are one, we are I,  
part man, part beast, together we're complete.

One day I'll be in a place where they accept,  
where I can leave my shell and be free at last.  
And once I'm living the life I'm living,  
Then I am finally being the being who I really am
