Every once in a while I keep something that I feel someone else may enjoy. I will try to be more active posting, but we'll see how this goes. Hoping tom write and post a short story here, get a feel for the kind of reception. Suggestions, comments, etc are welcome.","content":"The Dilemma of Choice\nI'm burning alive and looking on\nBut I'm cold inside, feeling not so strong\nConfusion is a simple thing, to those who like to pull the strings\nA dog of war and a broken man\nAccredit cruel things to a wave of god's hand\nSadistic inclinations, preferences of a generation\nIn the distance something beautiful may lie\nBut it was long ago that I closed my eyes\nMaybe something heavenly\nFloats among the stars\nBut who's to say?\nI was broken from the start\nSo pay me no mind and send me on my way\nLooks like I'm filled with nothing but hate\nBenevolence seemed so clean and pure\nBut my heart is constrained and I'm not so sure\nFreedom appears so easy to some\nThose who've been slaves, the poor and the dumb\nThe ones who fight, answer 'liberty's call'\nI hope you win but you'll probably fall\nEvil is an expression\nAnd love is a dream\nAll I see is oppression\nThat's the way it seems\nNo one to look to so we speak for ourselves\nWe converse with each other and comfort the dead\nStore our true thoughts on the shelves\n \nThe blood on my hands shines a crimson red\nI only wish I was better\nGracious, kind, and forgiving, too\nMy life hangs by a tether\nBut I hold on for you\nThis world is consumed by hatred and strife\nThink I might've lost the meaning of life\nI clutch my chest as I lose my voice\nPromises of salvation\nThe dilemma of choice"}
