Not entirely pleased with how this one turned out but with 30 poems in 30 days you can't expect a winner every time right?","content":"* * *\n\nMovies.   \n Books.  \n TV shows.   \n Video games.  \n Stories upon stories.\n\nThe aliens come.  \n Mankind is decimated.  \n Mankind makes a stand.  \n Earth is defended.\n\nBut stories aren't reality.  \n Fiction isn't real.  \n Dreams do not come true  \n and there are no more hero's.\n\nWhere were the armies  \n when their bombs leveled   \n city after city?\n\nWhere was that grand defense  \n we were promised?\n\nWhere was our aid when the  \n power cut off leaving us in darkness?\n\nWhere was the hero who survives  \n until the end to take out the alien's  \n and free earth once and for all?\n\nMovies always show the world  \n uniting as one to save the day.\n\nThey don't show them bickering   \n like children while the innocent  \n starve and fight like animals.\n\nThey don't show the politicians  \n abandoning their people to save   \n themselves.\n\nThey don't show a broken government  \n falling to pieces in front of your eyes.\n\nThere is no help.  \n There are no hero's.  \n There is no final attempt.  \n There is no saving earth.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"National Poetry Writing Month","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/694981-shameless.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/695722-destiny.json"}}
