I chose One Direction's \"Kiss You\" I've made some revisions since the original draft but it's still amusing to thing that this poem came from that","content":"I Lost Myself\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nI wanted to take you to that Denny's you loved\n\nAfter we got back together for the third time\n\nYou always ordered your coffee as black\n\nAs the night you first broke my heart.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nEvery time your middle finger\n\nPoints at me in sign language swears\n\nMy endorphins take over my movements.\n\nAnd I can't look to either side.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nI see you every day on the late night train.\n\nOr ordering a ham and turkey sandwich\n\nWith no mayo and extra lettuce\n\nJust the way you always like it.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nBut I know it's almost never you\n\nBecause you always say you're not returning.\n\nSo I sometimes I don't believe it when\n\nI find you laying half naked on my couch.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThere are no Yield signs in our bedroom.\n\nLet us listen to our bodies.\n\nI will shout yes, shout yes, shout yes\n\nUntil your tongue shuts me up.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nSometimes I hope you cheat on me\n\nSo that we know we've built something beautiful.\n\nAnd I'll invite you still to my roof\n\nEven though we can't see Orion.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nPlease tell me where I can find you\n\nAnd ignite you however you fancy.\n\nTell me we write music on my bed sheets.\n\nDeafen my inner ear so that my heart may listen.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nEvery other night is a new desire.\n\nFuck me.\n\nYour left knee becomes my drug.\n\nPleasure is the only language we know.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nI just want to skip the waltz.\n\nYou will always know where my creaky door is.\n\nIt is impossible for me to say no\n\nWhen my yes is between your lips.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/698664-soulmate.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/704409-my-grandmother-on-her-deathbed.json"}}
