Hastily, the\nHolsien mermaid turned around, and slithered quickly from the beach, and\ntowards the tight, narrow entrance to her cave. She ducked and swerved between\nthe rocks, and coiled into a dark cavern, which is secretly adorned by\ndiscarded silverware, strung up with fishing line, many colorful soda/beer\nbottles stuffed with sand-wax and wicks to make candles, and other various old,\nmangled objects scavenged from the pier.\n \nBelinda listened carefully as the footsteps got closer. She\nquietly picked up a small baseball bat that she armed with shards of broken\nglass as she stayed there, still and quiet as someone approached closer and\ncloser. \n \nWhen the stranger sounded like he was right next to the discrete\nentrance to her cave, Belinda heard it slap the rock three times, and the\nfootsteps walked away. Growing curious as the stranger she sense seemed to be\ngoing further away from her, Belinda set down the bat, and slowly slithered\nthrough the rocky space. \n \nThe mermaid smoothly moved her scaled body through the\ntunnel, and peeked from the entrance. Right at the entrance, sitting on the\nsand, is purple box with curvy designs, with a shiny yellow bow.\n \nEnticed by the color alone, Belinda reached out for the box\nwith her white, reptilian hands, and picked it up. She flickered her\nforked tongue at it, taking in its scent as she rotated it. It carries the\nscent of fish, and a familiar human. She knows what this is; Herald has given\nher several gifts that have been decorated such as this. I can't be from Herald\nthough; he doesn't know she lives in this spot, so why would he leave a present\nat her cave? Merrick nodded as he scooted back onto the velvet setting.\n \n \n~~~\n \n \nAdam sighed as he closed his locker, and walked out in his\ncasual clothes. He walked from out of the shower area, where his shoulder was\npushed against Herald's shoulder.\n\n\"Ah- Hey!\" He said, \"Excuse you!\" He said. Merrick groaned as he bent over, and pulled the box from\nunderneath the bed, where his sea equipment have been stored, as usual - except\nfor his trident, he seems to have lost it when he got caught in the blood of\nthe earth. Hopefully, his pod was able to track it down for him.\n \n \nMerrick secured the shell-kelp headband on around his head\nfor last, and walked around the bed, and knelt down to his sleeping mate.\n \n\"Goodbye, Adam,\" Merrick whispered as he stroked along\nAdam's hair, \"I'll return within 6 moons...\" He gently nuzzled Adam in his\nslumber and kissed his lips softly, \"I love you...\" Merrick stood up, and walked\nout of his room.\n \n \nAs he reached the back glass door, he felt a soft, furry rub\nbetween his legs, \"Raarrrr~\" He looked down, and chuckled as he saw the\nblondie-orange, semi fluffy cat looking up at him, and reached up to his leg,\nstretching as he pawed at his shin. \n \n\"Oh hi...\" He muttered quietly as he crouched down, and ran\nhis hand through the feline's fur, \"... Roxas, right?\" The cat purred as he\nnuzzled into Merrick's palm. The merman cleared his throat, and sounded a\npurr-growl noise from his vocal cords. Roxas mewled as he Merrick stroked the\ncat's back, and along his tail. He giggled as the cat then started swatting and\nbatting at Merrick's flashing shell.\n \n \n \nSoon, Merrick is walking to the cliff of the reef, facing\nthe sea, while still feeling the vibration of the shell slice on his chest. He\nlooked back at the strange, unique home of his human.
