{"sf1_id":726019,"sf2_id":"nDLLjVGn","title":"Cancer (My Final Poem)","author":"Arobynn","words":229,"posted_at":"2014-07-04T20:28:00.000Z","tags":["Death","cancer"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/726019-cancer-my-final-poem","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/nDLLjVGn","image_url":"https://www.sofurryfiles.com/std/thumb?page=726019\u0026ext=.jpg","description":"...","content":"I sit here at my laptop my heart ever racing\n\nThe idea of death and the fear of telling someone is devastating\n\nIt could help or hinder us or just confuse us both\n\nIt could break the dams open and it could rock our boat\n\nI may not live to see my dream walk past crowds of repetitive lives\n\nWhat a pity it would seem to be for a hope like that to die\n\nAnd what of the opportunity that has just opened up?\n\nWhat will I do with the key to the future that I began sowing up?\n\nIt could be my imagination or it could be truth\n\nI can't know for certain until I leave it too soon\n\nAnd fall apart in front of them, slipping away from life\n\nStaring as they look at me with tear stained eyes\n\nAnd stare morosely from above with a condescending smile\n\nAs my coffin slides in and is driven its last mile\n\nAnd the priest is paid to beg a god in which I've never believed\n\nTo make sure I'm safe and warm and to have my soul to keep\n\nAnd I'll hang behind when they've all gone away in from the night\n\nAnd lay down at the headstone, my final place in life\n\nI'll stay there for years, decades if need be\n\nUntil someone, somewhere, begins to remember me...\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
