That's the best. Like a southern baptist watching two men make out. He simply says \"Its alright.\" and gets back in his car.\n\nWe arrive at our first destination a bit after that.\n\nI'm no good with time frames.\n\nWe're going to pick up my friend. Lets call her K.\n\nSo we get to K's and She gives me a cloudy pink stuffed elephant. She gives me a drop of lysergic acid diethylamide on a pez to ingest.\n\nStomach acid.\n\nFace melt.\n\nAll systems go in fifteen to fourty minutes.\n\nAnd this is when I find out that Zah had been drinking.\n\nWhen she had picked me up, she offered me the fifth of vodka.\n\nBottle = 100%\n\nWe get to K's.\n\nShe offers K a hit out of the same bottle.\n\nBottle = 35%\n\nIt doesn't take a mathematician to figure these things out.\n\nK and I go to the bathroom and exchange words in private.\n\nWe decide to risk it.\n\nThe fifth from before comes up in Zah's hand as we get in the car.\n\nBottle = 0%\n\nAnd surprise surprise.\n\nAuxiliary bottle = 100%\n\nK takes the bottle.\n\nZah starts the car.\n\nWe had parked a few blocks from our final destination when the drugs began to take hold.\n\nI remember being happy they hadn't kicked in on the way.\n\nDuring the freeway lane shifts.\n\nDuring the three point turn in traffic.\n\nThe streets are paved with light.\n\nWe get to the rave. It's being held in some rented out Chinese buffet place.\n\nWe walk in to the trance intro.\n\nOn our right we have the dance floor.\n\nOn our left we have a separate room with different music.\n\nIn front of us and between the two, the main seating area of the restaurant.\n\nTowards the back of this space, we have the buffet area and the bathrooms.\n\nThey shouldn't of left the condiments on the tables.\n\nThey shouldn't of left the tables.\n\nThe lights cast morphing shadows.\n\nA girl comes up to K to talk, her acne scars deepen and squirm.\n\nA guy I know insists we go to the bathroom and smoke some weed.\n\nWe are preparing for SRB separation.\n\nI can smell rent-a-cop.\n\nI say no.\n\nHe persists.\n\nI say whatever, and we head to the bathroom.\n\nWe get to a stall and he lights up.\n\nHis hit.\n\nMy hit.\n\nHis hit.\n\nMy hit.\n\nHis hit.\n\nThe door opens and security is knocking on stalls.\n\nHe tries to hand me the remainder of the joint.\n\nI reject it.\n\nTwo stalls away.\n\nHe tries again.\n\nI reject it.\n\nOne stall away.\n\nHe tries again.\n\nI grab it and aim for the toilet.\n\nThey knock on the door.\n\nI missed the toilet.\n\nThe door opens and my friend suddenly has something really important to attend to.\n\nThe weed propelled me far enough for main engine cut off.\n\nPreparing for ET separation.\n\nAnd one of the security guards in his best authoritarian voice says:\n\n\"You\"\n\nHe tells me:\n\n\"Hands against the wall\"\n\nHis friend goes in to search the stall.\n\nHouston, we have a problem.\n\nI empty my pockets and as I place my hands on the wall I hope.\n\nIts just some dirt.\n\nA piece of toilet paper.\n\nHe throws my elephant and I shoot him a dirty look.\n\nThe elephant didn't do anything.\n\n\"Nothing in here\"\n\nAnd now, neither did I.\n\nI collect my things and go.\n\nWomps and metallic hits fill every sense as I walk out.\n\nPeople sweating out their ecstasy onto each other.\n\nWomp womp, clank clank.\n\nPale, hallowed faces come out of the dark and distort as they pass.\n\nHere comes the drop.\n\nOh boy, how exciting.\n\nI have a seat in the main restaurant area.\n\nHow long has it been already? Five? Six hours?\n\nI check my phone.\n\nIt's been two hours.\n\nI need my feet to be on the ground.\n\nMaybe they never will be.\n\nI'm David Bowie.\n\nLost in space.\n\nI want out.\n\nI need out right now.\n\nNo.\n\nBe calm.\n\nBuy the ticket, take the ride as Hunter would say.\n\nMaintain.\n\nOrbit insertion.\n\nWeightless, floating through lights and sound.\n\nOcular spectacular.\n\nLife blurs to a single instant.\n\nThat instant is eternity.\n\nDeorbit.\n\nThere are puddles of soy sauce all over the floor.\n\nHardening Sriracha on overturned tables.\n\nThey shouldn't of left the condiments on the tables.\n\nThey shouldn't of left the tables.\n\nI find K.\n\nI find Zah.\n\nWe start our walk back to the car.\n\nWe get in and K tells Zah how fun it was to risk our lives.\n\nIt was fun of her to down that fifth.\n\nSo much fun on the express way between lanes.\n\nLike Russian roulette played with one clear liquid bullet.\n\nThe ride home is awkward.\n\nI get to my bed and close my eyes.\n\nI brace for re-entry.\n\nTomorrow, I land.\n\nTomorrow, I will be home.\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
