{"sf1_id":732606,"sf2_id":"Vm26yWGm","title":"Just a minute...","author":"Jiblits","words":494,"posted_at":"2014-07-19T07:46:00.000Z","tags":["Poem","Poetry","slice of life"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/732606-just-a-minute","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/Vm26yWGm","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/00/62/006289f8-b55b-4484-85ff-3e762a86062f","description":"Poetry, Poem, Slice of life","content":"The air was heavy, hard to breath in\n\nI was losing continuousness, I couldn't see where to begin\n\nThe steps were uneven, my ground was shaking\n\nAs I blinked, I found myself continuously waking\n\nEvery time, sleeping a little longer than before\n\nI walked through a building empty, yet when my eyes would close, I could see a door\n\nJust out of reach, \u0026 warmth growing behind me\n\nI was day dreaming in reality, my mind was criss-crossing what I could think \u0026 see\n\nIn the center of this building, I felt a pulling to fall back\n\nI leaned as hard as I could forward, but couldn't get any slack\n\nI fell into what seemed a damp warm floor, relaxing to the touch\n\nI knew I couldn't deny it anymore, it was my life fading, blood soaked, I couldn't do much\n\nI struggled to remember how to use my hands \u0026 feet, something I'd done my entire life\n\nEvery thought to move, felt like the sharpest edge of any knife\n\nMy eyes were open, yet I could not make out what angle I was at\n\nThe room spinning, my eyes useless, I was blind as a bat\n\nI gave all my focus to every breath\n\nI found only the shadows around me taking shape, was I to meet death...\n\nBeyond any reasoning, I rose to my feet, I stood when I could no longer stand\n\nWas it all me, or was I given a hand\n\nThe thought gave me strength enough to fight\n\nI staggered through the flames, \u0026 found an amazing sight....\n\nThere before me, a crowd of people, fear filled smiles turning to wordless faces\n\nOne rushed to my side \u0026 answered to me, thank the heavenly graces\n\nThe eyes turned back now to wanting, so much was given to help my fading light\n\nIt was a miracle to live now, let it be another to continue throughout the night\n\nWords were spoken but fell on deaf ears\n\nThe language seemed unknown, as if not heard in years.\n\nFor a time, I smiled as they did there best to keep me here, what kindness, what class\n\nI felt only relief \u0026 happiness as my time ticked away, \u0026 came to pass\n\nI felt hope \u0026 love till the very end\n\nI could only bid farewell to my new last friend\n\nEyes open, It seemed like a dream to see family surrounding me\n\nI could only speak a few words, \"how can this be....\"\n\nMy body was in pain, but I was alive, I was here\n\nWith tears falling \u0026 love overflowing from hugs held near\n\nNo words need to be said, no remedy for my smile\n\nAnother day....just a minute, all of it, I'll make worth while...\n\n---Thanks for reading---\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; ---Always---\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
