Constructive criticism is welcome and the only flames I want to see are the kindles of love between these two dragons.","content":"When I first allowed my eyes to gaze upon him, it was like I viewed\u0026nbsp;into a mirror. I saw a dragon much like myself except for some minor differences.\n\nHe was shorter than I was, his scales were a crimson colors, and he had a longer snout than mine.\n\nThis dragon was attractive... Wait did I just think that?\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe red dragon smiled at Spyro despite his weakened state.\n\n\"His smile, something about it\u0026nbsp;was\u0026nbsp;so inviting.\" The purple\u0026nbsp;dragon thought.\n\nLooking over his body Spyro could see he suffered from severe malnutrition. His sympathy was with this dragon. There was no telling how long he must've been here for.\n\n\"I needed to help him.\" Spyro told himself.\n\n\"What's your name?\" The purple dragon asked.\n\nHe responded in mixed tone. \"Flame.\" There was a determination about the way he spoke yet the dragon detected an unsettling undertone of loneliness.\n\nA well suited name for a handsome dragon.\n\n\"Flame, I'm going to get you out of here.\"\n\nHis paws were constricted with chains connected to cuffs. Whoever did this to him also tied his wings and pit a spiked collar on him.\n\n\"Odd, that his collar wasn't connected to anything.\" Spyro thought.\n\nThe purple dragon used Ice breath on the chains and stroke them into tiny metal shards.\n\nThe red dragon was grateful and grinned being free from his restraints.\n\nSpyro felt compelled to ask him something. In the kindest way possible he asked,\n\n\"Um... Flame you want me to get that collar off your neck?\"\n\nHis eyes widened at the notion and he immediately detested.\n\n\"NO! I mean.... It's personal.\"\n\nHe lowered his head over the collar.\n\n\"It must really mean a lot to him so it's best I drop it.\" The hero thought again.\n\nSpyro started to apologize.\n\n\"Sorry, It's just-\"\n\nFlame looked down as if he were hurt.\n\n\"You ready to leave this place?\"\n\nSpyro tried to get Flame's attention, so he wouldn't get caught up in his thoughts.\n\nFlame shook off his thoughts and looked up. His determination seemed to return ad he nodded.\n\n\"Yeah. Let's go.\"\n\n\"I was glad that he was out of his thoughts, for now.\" Spyro thought.\n\nUpon his first step, Flame cringed.\n\n\"Are... You okay?\"\n\nSpyro became worried for Flame's well being. He hadn't known how long he'd been shackled but with that display, Spyro figured it must've been for a long time.\n\n\"Yeah... Yeah..\"\n\nFlame tried fighting through the pain but hissed out taking his next step.\n\n\"Flame, you're hurt.\"\n\nSpyro tried pleading with him only to get a glare in return.\n\n\"I'll be fine.\"\n\nFlame tried to take another step, resulting in his knees buckling and his legs giving out on him.\n\nBefore he could make contact with the ground, Spyro caught him with his back.\n\n\"No, you won't!\"\n\nFlame stared at Spyro in astonishment. One for catching him, and two for being straightforward.\n\nFlame knew he wasn't alright and that he needed Spyro desperately, but he didn't want him to know. Tears welled up in his eyes and he clenched his lids shut before the tears started to roll down his face.\n\nSpyro felt the tears upon his scales and sympathized with him.\n\n\"I could tell his pride was hurt.\" Spyro thought.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"My Mirror","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/861104-along-the-way.json"}}
