What am I?

 The europeans called me monster,  
For I burned their homes, devoured their flocks, and stole their women.  
 The asians called me god,  
For I brought good fortune and rain for crops.  
 The Americans called me myth,  
For I have no fossils to prove I did exist.  
  
Who am I?  
 I am known as the flying wyrm,breather of fire, and eater of ashes.  
The winged lizard of death and destruction,  
 The scaled god of rain and life.  
I am a dragon.
