And besides that, he can still sense the distant\npresence of his pod - this moon is just about over, and it's time for them to\nmove on. Should he have risked himself to see his family again, if only just\nonce, for a very short moment?\n \n\"... Le's get some DLC!\" He\nended the sentence with a deep yell as he tugged on the merman.\n \n\"Right...\" Merrick groaned as he turned and walked with the\nblack male. As he walked, however, the pain in his head began to get steadily\nworse. He moaned as his vision began to blur. He blinked and shook his head,\ntrying to force out this most unpleasant sensation. He feels his breaths\ngetting deeper, rather complicated in fact.\n \n\"Been real excited bout this! Now we get to find out what\nhappens with...\" Jamal said as he turned around, but stopped as he looked at the\nmerman, \"Hey, Merrick... You aight, man?\" The area around his eyes appear to be\ndarkened, his tone is a little pale without its usual subtle brightness, and\nhe's panting lightly as he walked towards him.\n \n\"I'm... I'm fine, Jamal...\" Merrick replied hardly able to think\nhimself capable of standing and talking at the same time.\n \n\"Dude, you don't look so good,\" Jamal said as he went to\nhim, and putting a hand onto Merrick's forehead, \"You a little warm there.\nThere something wrong?\"\n \n\"I said I'm fine,\" Merrick said weakly as he brushed Jamal's\nhand away, \"I just...\" Merrick moaned as he turned to the kitchen, \"I just need a\nglass of water...\" Merrick said as he made his way to the kitchen.\n \n\"Dude, you-\"\n \n \n*DING-DONG*\n \n \n\"Ahh, hang on,\" Jamal sighed before he turned towards the\ndoor, and turned the knob open, showing Nick there, holding a PS3 controller\nwith its cord wrapped around it.\n \n\"Hi babe~\" The Latino said with a wide grin. His whole body feels like it's about to fall apart into\npieces from all his shaking.\n \n\"Look, guys, let's just-\"\n \n \n*THUD, Clink-kink-kriiiiii...*\n \nJamal jerked his head to the kitchen when he heard a noise.\nHis eyes bugged out when he saw Merrick collapsed on the floor, with a small\nsplash of water on the tiled kitchen floor, with a glass rolling to the\ncabinet. \"MERRICK!\" Jamal rushed to the kitchen.\n \n\"Whoa, shit man!\" Nick rushed in too, \"Blondie! You ok,\nman?!\"\n \n\"?, iya! Merikku-kun!\" Fumiko exclaimed. \n \nJamal turned the merman over, deliberately putting his leg\nonto the small puddle so his jeans can soak up the water before it can touch\nMerrick's skin. His eyes remained closed as he lay there, unresponsive.\n \n\"What is happening?!\" Ryo said as he held his sister back\nfrom pouncing upon Merrick, \"What is wrong?!\" \n \n\"I dunno! He's all hot and clammy!\" Jamal said, \"Merrick!\nWake up man! She shook and nodded as she sat there while Ryojin flipped open his phone.\n\n \nJamal carefully tucked his strong arm under Merrick's legs,\nand around his shoulders, and slowly picked up the unconscious merman. When he\nstood up, he turned to Nick, \"Go 'head 'n call Adam bout this, he'll wanna\nknow.\"\n \n\"Ok, babe,\" Nick said as he fumbled for his phone while\nJamal carried Merrick into Yuri's well kept room.\n \n \n+++\n \n \nMerrick watched on the futon as Yuri moved the cooled pad of\nher stethoscope from his belly to his chest, feeling his body quiver even as he\nlay still. Say, 'Ahhh'.\"\n \nMerrick opened his mouth, and allowed Yuri to press the\nsmall wood paddle down on his tongue, and flashed a small light into his mouth.\nShe investigated his mouth for a few seconds, \"Did you drink from a blow dryer?\nThere's not a drop of saliva in here!\" She commented before taking the tiny\nplank from his tongue, and taking a moment to look at it, \"... Not even damp.\"\n \n\"What's wrong with me, Yuri?\" Merrick asked feebly.\n \n\"I'm almost positive what it is, I just want to check one\nmore thing,\" Yuri said as she took the cuff of her sphygmomanometer, and\nstrapped it around Merrick's left arm, and pressed the power button.\n \nIt buzzed into life, and began inflating the cuff. Merrick\ngrunted and winced as the cuff squeezed tightly around his bicep. It stopped\ninflating for 3 seconds, before it shrunk once, twice, third time, and then\ndeflated as the machine beeped.\n \n\"78/49\" Yuri said as she ripped the velgro apart from his\narm.\n \n\"I-Is that good?\" Merrick asked.\n \n\"No, Merrick. That's bad,\" She said plainly, making Merrick\ngroan a little, \"Your blood pressure is REALLY low.\"\n \n\"Yuri... Am I going to be alright?\"\n \n\"Yes, you'll be fine. You're just suffering from a harsh\ncase of dehydration.\"\n \n\"What... What does that mean?\" Merrick moaned.\n \n\"It's when your body doesn't have enough water inside it to\nfunction normally. So it shuts down like this until it can get some moisture.\nHave you been drinking enough water lately?\"\n \n\"Mmmm... Sort of...\" Merrick groaned.\n \n\"Ok, well, you need to drink a little more. Maybe because\nyou're...\" She nodded her head to the side, \"You might be a little more\nsusceptible then humans...\" He nodded as she then took out a large pouch full of\nclear fluid, \"From what Ryo told me on the phone, I suspected I would need to\nbring some Saline with me. For the time being, you need some water in you right\nnow, so you're gonna rest in here while you have an IV, ok?\" She said softly.\n \n\"Alright...\" Merrick agreed as he eyed the small needle and\ntube she unpacked, \"Can Fumiko not stay here today?\" He braced himself, and\nwinced as the needle injected into him, \"I just can't deal with her right now.\"\nYuri laughed as she connected the tube to the big, full pouch.\n \n\"Don't worry, Ryo already took her to a friend's house. He\nfigured you could do without a screaming fangirl jumping all over you.\"\n \n\"Good.\" Merrick said as Yuri hung the saline pouch up.\n \n\"Ok, just take it easy, alright? Let me know if something\nelse is wrong, and don't move that arm.\"\n \n\"Alright... Thank you, Yuri...\" Merrick said as he rested back,\nfeeling a cold sensation wash into his veins, \"Hmmmmm~\" He murred as he enjoyed\nthe very chilled sensation drive into his arm, and cooling him off from the\ninside. He gonna be aight?\" He said, just as\nthere came a loud rumble. \n \nBefore Yuri could answer, the sound of a motorbike's roar\ncame to an abrupt end, before some rapid steps stomped onto the property's\ngravel, and Adam came bursting through the door, still wearing his Fish House\nuniform overalls, shirt and cap.\n \n\"Where is he?! Is he alright?! What happened???\" He said as\nran up to Yuri, \"Yuri, tell me he's-\"\n \n\"Easy, easssyyyy!\" She said, \"Calm down, guys,\" Yuri said as\nshe turned around, \"Merrick is fine, he's just very dehydrated. I'm\nadministering some saline into him as we speak, he's going to be fine.\" She\nsaid. Adam sighed heavily in relief.\n \n\"Thank God... I thought... Oh man, thanks, Yuri.\" He said as he\nput his gloved hands on her shoulders, which stilled smelled heavily of fresh\nfish.\n \n\"You're very welcome, Adam, please get your gloves off me.\"\nShe said with a sense of disgust as she leaned away from him.\n \n\"Oh! Sorry!\" Adam said as he yanked off his thick gloves,\nand stuffed them into the overalls pocket.\n \n\"Qué alivio, eh?\" Nick said as he slunk back, \"He had us all\nworried, man.\"\n \n\"Anyway, Adam, can I talk to you in private, please?\" Yuri\nsaid, \"There's something that has be concerned about Merrick.\" She said.\n \n \n\"Oh, sure.\" Adam said as he and his Japanese friend walked\nthrough the open door, and strolled over to Lavi's little koi pond, \"So... Is\nthere something else wrong with him? Give it to me straight.\"\n \n\"Men plus women.\" Yuri jested casually, \"But we're not\ntalking about that.\"\n \n\"Right, so what IS the problem?\" Adam said as he crossed his\narms.\n \n\"Well... I think Merrick's been dehydrated for a while.\" Yuri\nsaid.\n \n\"What makes you say what?\"\n \n\"Haven't you noticed? He's been looking pale for the past\nfew weeks. He seems so dreary and down. Half the time, he kinda acts like a\nzombie.\"\n \n\"I think I might know what you're talking about. This is the\nmonth where his pod is around these waters. He really wants to see them, but he\ncan't since he was banished.\"\n \n\"I don't think that's the problem, Adam. This isn't the\nfirst time he's been out of sorts lately.\" She said. Adam uncrossed his arms\nand looked at her.\n \n\"What? What do you mean?\"\n \n\"All month, it's like he's walking with a haywire compass in\nhis head. He's been unfocused and woozy all the time. Everytime I asked him if\nthere was anything wrong, he'd just deny it.\"\n \n\"I have noticed... Something...\" Adam admitted, feeling a little\nashamed, \"He always just brushed it off... But dehydrated? He's always drinking\nplenty of water, I don't understand.\"\n \n\"I think I do.\" Yuri said.\n \n\"Well, let me hear it.\"\n \n\"Think about it,\" Yuri said as she looped her hand casually,\n\"He's a...\" She looked behind her to make sure Nick isn't around, \"Merman...\" She muttered,\n\"Maybe he needs to be in the ocean for a while. What if he's not getting enough\nwater from the OUTSIDE of his body, instead of drinking enough of it?\"\n \n\"That's actually a good point,\" Adam said, \"It has been a\nwhile since we went swimming.\"\n \n\"Cool. Maybe we can head to the beach sometime? Or what\nabout that scale of his? Did you say it was about to expire?\" Adam took off his\ncap and scratched his head, remembering how the scale that makes Merrick appear\nhuman while wet has almost lost all of its color.\n \n\"Yeah, it might be safer if it's just the two of us.\" Adam\nsaid.\n \n\"Sounds like a plan,\" Yuri agreed, \"He's in my room hooked\nup to an IV. Merrick opened his eyes, and smiled as he saw his\nlover come in.\n \n\"Hi, Adam,\" Merrick said as Adam knelt down beside him.\n \n\"How're you feeling?\" Adam asked as he gently stroked\nMerrick's cheek.\n \n\"A lot better now that you're here~\" Merrick said with a\nsmile.\n \n\"Aww~\" Adam smiled as he moved in and kissed Merrick. He\nignored the dryness of Merrick's chapped lips as he kissed him, and nuzzled\nhim. Merrick moaned pleasantly as both the coldness of the saline swirled in\nhis body, and the touch of his human lover.\n \n\"Mmmm... And there it is...\" Adam muttered as he gazed at the\nfamiliar waterfall of the sapphire blue grotto, \"You're a sight for sore eyes,\nol' Aquata.\" He said as he took in the rocks, the water, and the pale rainbow\nin the morning light. It's been so long since he's last been here - not since\nhe had taken all of the stuff from the cove, and moved it to the house when\nMerrick taught himself how to walk, when he said he would make Adam's house his\nnew 'Sea Spot'.\n \nCarefully, he unhinged his backpack, and laid it onto the\nground. He stepped out of his sandals, and stepped onto cool stone.\n \nTaking a few quick breaths, with the sleeping merman still\nin his arms, Adam suddenly sprinted forward. He dashed to the rock, up to the\nend of it, and leapt forward, just as Merrick's eyes blinked awake.\n \n \nSPLASH!\n \n \nAdam and Merrick dropped right down into the water!\nImmediately, Merrick yelped and squirmed from Adam's hold, and whirled around\nin a panic. Adam grinned as he saw Merrick's body transform into his true image\n- a blue and silver merman, sharp fins lined in rows on his head, a short fin\non each forearm, the surface of his flesh protected by a layer of thin,\ntransparent scales. His long, strong tail adorned with ruffle-like fin\nmembranes for a touch of elegance, and his wide tail fin waving around.\n \nMerrick whirled around, soon figuring out where he MIGHT be\n- it's been too long since he was in this secluded den, tasting the naturally\nfreshwater. \n \nHe looked at his webbed hands, and at his tail, concluding\nthat he is back in a familiar world... A feeling of being what he really is... Just\nhim and Adam... This feeling is both relieving, and heartbreaking.\n \nAdam blinked and looked at him strangely as the merman\nturned and swam away, undulating his tail up and down as he disappeared into\nthe cloud of white bubbles of the waterfall. \n \nCurious, Adam swam forward quickly into the tickling suds\nstorm, and into the dark tunnel. He paddled through the water in the darkness -\nhe's been in this underwater carven so many times, he can navigate through it\nblindfolded.\n \nAs he swam, he began to notice that the water isn't warming\nlike it usual. As a matter of fact, he can't see the familiar orange-pink glow\nof the crystalline cave. Instead, began to feel the water's temperature...\nLighten, only a little. Not like a hot spring like last time. The water is also\nilluminated with a blue-green glow. Instead of a warm, orange-lit basin, the\ncove is now pleasantly cool with glowing teal crystals shimmering in the water\nand the rocky walls.\n \n'That's odd...' Adam thought as he floated in the aqua-lit basin,\n'Since when did these crystals change color?' Also noting the cooled\ntemperature, he swam up, and climbed up onto the stone ledge. He peered, and\nspotted his fish-like boyfriend, sitting against the rocky wall.\n \n\"Hey, babe...\" Adam said as he got up, \"My trunks are still\non... They're usually floating on the surface by now...\" He said in a weak attempt\nat a joke.\n \n\"... He sighed as he lowered his\nhead.\n \n\"Even though we were bonded, I tried to leave you. After I\nnearly died, I revealed myself to the pod, and I got banished. It's just one\nthing after another with me. And now... I'm drowning myself on dry land...\" He\nlooked up at his human, \"Adam...
