The brief was 'inspired by a work associated with the First World War', so naturally I picked Snoopy vs. the Red Baron...","content":"Below my little square of white  \nUpon white fields, white poppies blow.\u0026nbsp;  \nWhite clouds surround my lonely flight  \nHanging black-bordered high and low.\n\nSomewhere beyond the frame he flies  \nWhere the white air meets the white mud  \nWaiting to blaze across my skies  \nAnd trace his scarlet streak of blood.\n\nEternally elusive foe  \nA figment of a figment's dream  \nBullets and curses noiseless flow  \nYou bank and turn to slip the stream.\n\nThe dogfight aces ceased their reign  \nWith all the heroes of their age  \nBut, doggedly, I still remain  \nIn motion on the yellowed page.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/653869-rodentia.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/845667-wolf-break.json"}}
