I finally transcribed it (with a few edits) to my iPad for the convenience of uploading. I hope you enjoy this little poem. ^^\nOh, and I had read Learning to Swim by GabrielClyde, which sorta inspired this piece. ^^\nHis profile (coz I can't do a hyperlink or anything like that at the mo): https://gabrielclyde.sofurry.com\nThe mentioned story (for your pleasure if you didn't read that beautiful story): https://www.sofurry.com/view/733051","content":"With a heavy heart that I hold dear\n\nI must try and lend an ear\n\nThe dove that used to tell me why\n\nHas flown away into the night\n\nI wondered why I was here and why I was scared\n\nBut that faithful dove has went as feared\n\nNo I'm here and my heart is cleared\n\nI reminisce the sweet old days of years long gone.\n\nThe times I felt invincible and all of my wrongs\n\nI recall the sound of a roaring river,\n\nI recall the call of an eagle, the call of a crow\n\nIn fact, it was not too long ago,\n\nThat I lost that oar.\n\nIt moved me about so damn slow,\n\nBut now I drift forevermore.\n\nI yearn for land, but the sea has a grip.\n\nI yearn for water -- clean water -- to grace my lip,\n\nYet I drift in water poisonous to me\n\n...\n\nI guess it doesn't matter with what happens,\n\nI guess it doesn't matter with what happens.\n\nThese sharks, they circle, these sharks, the swarm.\n\nThis sea has me.\n\nEven when I was tethered to the shore.\n\nNow I'm out here, on my own boat,\n\nStuck staring stoically.\n\nThe world is out there, yet I'm here.\n\nIt wasn't too long ago that the dove has left.\n\nIt wasn't too long ago, that I wanted to swim.\n\nHere I am.
