Sorry if poetry isn't your thing; I'll be posting some of my stories later as well.","content":"Wait\n\nWhat was I to do?  \nWouldn't it all have been in vain?  \nSo all I did was...Wait.\n\nI was feeling blue.  \nIt all was always the same.  \nCould I do anything but...Wait?\n\nThat's all I knew.  \nI knew I couldn't handle the pain.  \nShouldn't I just...Wait?\n\nThen I chose a different hue.\n\nA set pattern accomplishes nothing.  \nWhat is life without spontaneity?  \nSo what was the point?  \nDid it matter?  \nDid I matter?\n\n\"No.\" said I.  \nA tear escaped my eye.\n\nAs a figure passed me by,  \nI called out as I looked to the bright sky.  \nA silence fell.  \nA touch of darkness seeped into the light.\n\n\"Do I dare disturb the universe?\"  \nEliot once wrote.\n\n\"No.\" said I.\n\nOr had I already offended?\n\nThe figure stopped.  \nMy heart plummeted.  \nWas there yet time to descend the stair?\n\nI did not know.\n\nI did not need to know.\n\nI had been here before.  \nOn the other side of things.  \nAt least, I remembered it that way.\n\nA flash of darkness came over me.  \nA warmth followed.  \nHad my time ended?  \nFor I felt at peace.\n\nBut the bustle of the streets continues.  \nMy scars still there.  \nWas it all just a dream?  \nOr had I stopped wanting to...Wait?\n\nThe shadow lifted.  \nThe daylight felt stronger.  \nIt might have been worth the...Wait.\n\nWith a new-found resilience,  \nI stepped forth.  \nWith a new-found courage,  \nI chase.  \nWith a new-found voice, I yelled,\u0026nbsp;\"Wait!\"\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Miscellaneous Works","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/650636-unity-poetry.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/765692-flux-poetry.json"}}
