I'm not sure if it helped him, but it meant something to be able to connect at least. This is for Buffy, forever a puppy.","content":"Memories are the best of us, what remains when we are gone.  \nMemories are the cherished moments, the happy tears.  \nMemories.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;Those remnants of time gone by that signify  \nwhat it means to be, and what it means to continue on.\n\nTime conquers all.  \nAgainst this none can stand.  \nYet we fight every moment, driven by a purpose that none can tell.  \nLost in the currents and eddies, we often forget  \nwhat it simply means to be.\n\nThe smaller ones, the treasured ones, do and doth and connot.  \nThey flit from moment to moment, revelling in their life.  \nIn an existence of meer fractions, slivers and hearbeats,  \nthey call to us by our secret names.\n\nIn this sliver of an inch in the great span of time,  \nwe meet them.  \nSeeking friendship, affection, and all the rest,  \nwe share and gain alike.\n\nWe fill our span with all the world until it overabounds,  \nbut none can fight the pull of time.\n\nAn end approaches; a shadow falls,  \nand in this fime we stand together,  \neven as one must fall.\n\nHow, what fall silent.  \nWho and why remain.\n\nThe hammer falls and the bell tolls,  \nbut the somber sound brings joy.  \nBut none alive to hear its sound  \ncan hold their tears for long.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poems","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/628698-why-we-care.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/769852-we-only-have-each-other.json"}}
