# 2540 Chapter 2 Author: NaimishtheCat Tags: Adventure, Birdgirl, Catgirl, Future, Hybrid, Sci-Fi, black panther #2 of 2540 ?2nd part of 2540 hope some one enjoy it. the light of the sun started to fade in the horizon, staining the clouds above with  the copper colors of the sunset. yellow, orange, red, and purple filled the sky in a never ending dance of colors, it was like the sky reflected the sorrow for the events that happened early that day. -i still don't understand why do we have to bring him to our home- Mahaviru the cheetiger protested will caring a human body over his shoulders. -i told you already, if it wasn't for him i probably be death- Alexis replayed walking a couple of steps behind garbing the still bleeding wound of her shoulder. you should at least let me take care of that wound Mahavira insisted for a third time, but Alexis ignored him and did not even bother to reply. walking  in the seemingly never ending forest that now covered most of the earth surface was such a hard task for both of them... although most humans are short in height and the NeoHumans have above natural strength Xeno was one of the biggest humans that they have ever seen, so by the time they where near the feline village where they lived it was almost midnight... Alexis was getting behind with each steep she took, but she didn't allowed Mahavira to take care of her wound, it was almost like if she had a more important task to complete than taking care of her own live.  after such a long journey it seem like trees started to grow farther apart from each other and soon they where walking in a clear valley between 2 hills where a river of clear waters ran down bringing the sweet smell of moist dirt. as soon as Alexis saw the river she gather the remaining strength in her body to run down to the edge of the river and submerged her head into the crystal clear water... Mahaviru scolding her with a paternal voice said -don't drink too fast or you are going to get sick- but again like if it was a bad habit Alexis completely ignored Maharviru's suggestions. Mahiviru insisted to keep going because the village was close enough that it was pointless to take a rest after such a long journey being so close, and he reminded Alexis that one of his duties was to make sure nothing happen to her. so one of the priorities was to get to the village to take care of her wounded shoulder.  when they arrived to the village a huge crow started to gather as they walked by, wipers and  fear could be heard and felt in the place. after all, most Neohumans had never seen one of the remnants before... by the time they reached the house of the elders at least half of the village was following after them. as they crossed the portal all of the eyes in the room directed their attention to the peculiar trio. Alexis gave a step to the from and started to  speak to the council of elders, but as soon as the first word came out of her mouth she fall to the ground unconscious... unaware of how much time it has passed Alexis woke up in a nest made off leaves and branches to encounter 2 young servalies standing by her side taking care of her wounded shoulder and when she tried to incorporate she saw Mahaviru standing in the frame of the door looking outside, before she was able to say anything mahaviru scold her once again -i told you you were going to get us in trouble again-  he didn't even turned his head but he knew she was awake at that time... Alexis lower her sight to the nest of leaves and branches and tried to reply  but before the first word came out of her mouth she close it again... she waited a couple of minutes and just say really slowly -i'm sorry-  Mahaviru turned around to look at her and said in a soft voice -you don't have to apologize to me- but your father is furious because you brought one of them to the village... and he is  even more angry because you did not let me take care of your wound when they where fresh, you know that now it will take longer for you to heal and that no herb or plant can help you.  Alexis was about to say something when Mahaviru stooped her and said -not to me- your father ordered once you woke up you headed directly to see him.  worried about having to talk directly to her father she walked slowly followed closely by Mahaviru all the time. Alexis stooped suddenly and turned to see mahiviru to the eyes and scream -would you please stop following me, i wont go anywhere- mahiviru smiled and replayed  -i'm sorry but these are you father orders, you must be watched at all times- she frown her eyes and between her clenched teeth she let out a furious -fine, it's ok- when she arrived to the elder house Mahaviru sat beneath a close tree and said -ill be waiting for you outside, now go in and see what he has to say-  Alexis walked slowly towards the interior of the place, but for her surprise the place was empty. or almost empty with the exception of an old black panther sitting in the center of a long rectangular table, their eyes were locked and the silence filled the room for a couple of seconds, when she tried to say a word... Shade the black panther with a deep voice broke the silence -do you realize the consequences of your actions- speechless Alexis looked away and started playing with her fingers... Shade continued -even if you are my daughter there is no justification for your actions, you endangered the whole village by bringing one of the remnants to this place, but don't worry the council and i already took care of the problem-  Alexis let out a suffocated scream -do you men he i...- but she got interrupted by her father once again - he is being hold prisoner in a cave and the wolf tribe will exchange him for Tina of the bird tribe- Alexis protested -but father you can't do that he saved my life and...-  -and i am thankful for that but the council already took a decision- -but father do you know what the remnants will do to him for what he have done- Shade stood from his sit and in a loud scream pronounced the words - HE IS NOT ONE OF US- a few seconds of silence  filled the room once again -do you mean he is not like you, have you forgotten that i... that my mother was a human- in a shameful tone he replayed -no, i have not. looking your face everyday is a remainder of my actions- a string of tears flowed in Alexis' face and she fall down in the exact same place she was standing. her father added -everything i do its to protect you, the council wanted me to exile you from the village and i convinced them to let you stay with the promise that you wont leave this village anymore to avoid further problems-  Alexis raised her sight looking for the elusive eyes of her father -well at least would you allow me to see him one last time before he is gone?- Shade walk to a near window and  stood there for a few seconds, then turned around and look at her daughter -im sorry but you cant the cave is outside the village and if you leave you wont be able to come back-  Alexis stood up and in a loud scream said - you claim that we are different from them, but the council  is behaving just like those filthy humans do- after having said that she  ran way from that place   not giving time to Mahaviru to follow her. she ran as far as the energies in her body allowed her, she got to the limits of the village and climb to the biggest tree she could saw, she sat there for hours crying, blaming her self for everything that happened... after a couple hours the sun started to set down and the sky once again got stained with reds and purples almost like if the afternoon was making the sky bleed. at that moment she remember her wound and put her paw over it just to realize it was bleeding again... slowly she  got down from the tree just to find out that Mahaviru was waiting sitting down in a tree close to where she had been crying... with a calm voice he asked Alexis if she was ok. but once again she ignored him completely and started to walk towards the houses, after a few steps Mahaviru said -you should let me take care of that wound you are bleeding again- Alexis stop walking turned around, and got ready to exhale a loud scream as she usually do. but instead she fall to the ground finding her self with not enough energy to even say a word. here let me take care of you Mahaviru pick her in his arms and started to lick her wound, Alexis protested with her head but didn't stop him...  when the bleeding stop once again Mahaviru started to walk towards the village with Alexis on her arms. when they where getting close Alexis asked to put her down that she was able to walk from there on. but Mahaviru  said - you can barely talk let alone walk, besides your house is in the top of a tree how are you supposed to climb that high with such a wound in your shoulder- she look away and did not said a single word. once they arrived to the house mahaviru put her in the floor and added - i don't understand why is that you are the only cat living high in a tree- Alexis replayed with a apprehensive tone -well this is the only way Tina is able to come and visit me... after you chased her across half village she never felt safe surrounded by so many felines- Mahiviru laughed -you know i was playing with her it's not like i had real intentions on eating her- suddenly Alexis realized that Tina was still captured by the humans and she broke into tears again. -its all my fault if that day i wouldn't have let her alone she... she... - but mahiviru stopped her -its not your fault- but Alexis was in her own world -and now that human... that human is going to die because of me- Mahaviru realized there was nothing he could do to stop her, so he wrapped her arms around her and let her cry over hes shoulder... when the cry stop he tried to pull away Alexis from hes body, but Alexis was asleep and he found him self trapped there until the sun raised again....
