Rose cheered and smiled, along with many of the other people at the  \nbar. The Place was known for it's Karaoke nights, where just anybody could step up onto the  \nstage and have a live band play for him or her. Mia bowed to the band, stepped down from  \nthe stage, and blushed as she sat back down next to Rose. The pair had gone to their homes  \nand changed for the night, as the bar was pretty ritzy. Rose wore a pair of white slacks, with  \nspecially made black dress shoes, and a green-black silk shirt that was open-backed for her  \nwings. Dark red dress suspenders accented the outfit, and she had taken out her  \ngrandfather's opal cufflinks for the shirt.  \n  \nMia had gone for a less 'tomboy' look, wearing a slightly longer version of  \nthe 'little black dress'. Her dress was also more purple than black, and shimmered in the  \ndimmed lights. Her shoes were thinly crafted high heels, but perfectly suited for the outfit.  \nShe had her hair loosed and flowing freely, with the right side held behind her ear by a pearl-  \naccented hairpin. She smiled to Rose and adjusted her skirt, giggling like a schoolgirl.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"I've never sang in front of people like this... I'm used to booths and only having  \nmy friends hear me.\" Mia sipped the water she had bought.  \n  \nRose grinned, \"naaah, It's more fun when you get to embarrass yourself in front  \nof total strangers...\"  \n  \n\"Was I really that bad?\" Mia stared, looking hurt.  \n  \nRose laughed and shook her head, giving the human girl a light kiss; \"You were  \nfantastic... I'm the one who's going to embarrass myself...\"  \n  \nMia giggled, \"you'll be fine.\"  \n  \n\"Oh, I don't doubt that,\" Rose chuckled. \"But I'm still going to make a fool of  \nmyself...\"  \n  \nMia blinked, watching Rose walk to the stage. The people in the bar grew quiet;  \nwatching Rose take the small stage in the center...  \n  \nShe reached down and pulled a white fedora from the prop basket that the bar  \nprovided and grinned as the music started. Several of the older people looked shocked as  \nthe melody of 'Come Fly With Me' picked up, and Rose tipped the hat forward and leaned in  \nto the microphone, smiling as she let loose with the song, holding true to Frank Sinatra's way  \nof singing it.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;_\"Come fly with me, let's fly let's fly away...  \n  \nIf you can use, some exotic booze;  \n  \nThere's a bar in far Bombay.  \n  \nCome fly with me, we'll fly we'll fly away!\"_  \n    \n  \nShe leaned the microphone stand as she swayed with the music, playing up the act she was  \nperforming.  \n  \n_\"Come fly with me, let's float down to Peru...  \n  \nIn lama land, there's a one-man band,  \n  \nAnd he'll toot his flute for you.  \n  \nCome fly with me, we'll float down in the blue!\"_  \n    \n  \nShe pulled the Microphone from the stand and traipsed over to where Mia was sitting, singing  \ndirectly to her, starting the next verse with a smile and a wink.  \n  \n_\"Once I get you up there, where the air is rarefied...  \n  \nWe'll just glide, starry eyed...  \n  \nOnce I get you up there, I'll be holding you so near,  \n  \nYou may here, angels cheer - because were together!\"_  \n    \n  \nA quick kiss at Mia's cheek, and she started back up to the stage, still playing up the act, tail  \nswaying in time to the beat. Her wings kept tucked tightly to her back to keep from knocking  \nanyone's drinks over as she stepped up to the stage, starting in on the end of the song.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;_\"Weather wise it's such a lovely day.  \n  \nYou just say the words, and we'll beat the birds,  \n  \nDown to Acapulco bay,  \n  \nIt's perfect, for a flying honeymoon - they say!  \n  \nCome fly with me, we'll fly we'll fly away!\"_  \n    \n  \nWith the last note, she added the last flourish, holding her hand skyward as she  \ncarefully spread her wings to 'show off' to the crowd. The music ended and the bar cheered.  \nRose tucked her wings up, put the hat back and strutted back to her seat, sitting back and  \ncrossing her legs, smiling.  \n  \nMia laughed, \"you never said you could sing!\"  \n  \nRose winked. \"You never asked,\" she said with a grin, twirling her tail tip in her  \nhand like one would swing a small rope. She smiled and flagged down a waitress, placing an  \norder for a 'Jack and Coke', then looking to Mia, \"you want anything to drink?\"  \n  \nMia blushed, \"I... don't really know what's good... maybe you could pick  \nsomething?\"  \n  \nRose nodded and smiled, ordering an 'Amaretto Spritzer' and tipping the waitress  \nin advance, \"So, now that we're through singing, what else would you like to do?\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Mia nodded, leaning on the table, \"what else is there to do?\"  \n  \nRose leaned back in her seat folding her arms in thought, \"Hmmm... that's a good  \nquestion...\"  \n  \nMia giggled and watched the thinking dragoness, licking her lips in curiosity, \"what  \nare you thinking?\"  \n  \n\"I'm thinking....\" Rose twitched her ear as a larger lady, a canine (rose figured she  \nwas probably from Newfoundland, due to her looks), took the stage and started a slow, lilting  \nJazz piece. The Karaoke part of the night had ended and the bar went about its usual shows.  \nRose smiled brightly as Mia blinked, wondering if she was going to finish the statement, \"I'm  \nthinking that I'd like to dance.\"  \n  \nMia blinked, looking around. The bar was lacking the obvious dance floor, though  \nthere was plenty of room between the tables. She blushed and nodded a little, \"O-okay.\"  \n  \nRose stood smoothly and bowed lightly to Mia, offering her a hand; \"shall we  \ndance?\"  \n  \nMia smiled shyly and took the offered hand gently, and Rose gently pulled her to  \nher feet. The lighter human stumbled a bit, ending up leaning against Rose and feeling a  \nsudden rush of emotion race through her. She looked up and found Rose smiling sweetly at  \nher. \"H-hello...\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"You okay?\" Rose smiled, reaching up to gently push some of Mia's hair  \naside, \"Guess I forgot my strength...\"  \n  \nMia nodded and reached up draping her arms over Rose's shoulders, regaining  \nher feet, \"I'm just fine...\" she blushed a little, \"I thought we were going to dance?\"  \n  \nRose smiled and lightly held Mia's waist, stepping into a simple box-step that kept  \nwith the music, \"That was the plan...\"  \n  \nPeople nearby stared a little, seeing the two girls dance slowly with the music. The  \nsinger on the stage smiled, happy to see it. Mia blushed and looked down a little, resting her  \nhead on Rose's chest, \"We're getting stared at.\"  \n  \nRose looked around, grinning slyly. She looked down and kissed Mia's  \nhair, \"let 'em stare. They're just jealous they didn't think of it first.\"  \n  \n\"Well, they're liking our idea,\" Mia nodded to the other couples that had gotten up  \nas well.  \n  \nRose giggled, swaying to the music and marveling at the sheer simplicity of the  \nmoment. The song ended and they sat back down, both taking sips from their drinks. Mia  \nblinked and smiled, \"Hey, this is really good.\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"Figured you'd like that,\" Rose laughed, \"It's not really strong, but it's tasty.\"  \n  \n\"What about yours?\" Mia leaned over, swiping the dragoness's glass and taking a  \nsip, then set the glass down, coughing and spluttering.  \n  \nRose laughed, \"Mine's a bit stronger. Here,\" she leaned over and rubbed Mia's  \nback, \"you okay?\"  \n  \nMia nodded, shaking her head to clear it, \"wow...that was really strong.\"  \n  \n\"Yeah, s'how I like it though,\" Rose smiled her tail curling around the back of Mia's  \nankle idly. The pair chatted for a while about their lives. Mia worked as a waitress at a  \nnearby Japanese Restaurant, and She only lived a few blocks from Rose's place. Mia's  \nparents had been against her coming to study in America, but she had left home anyway.  \nThey danced a little more, and shared a few more drinks, and after a few hours Rose led a  \nslightly Tipsy Mia from the bar.  \n  \n\"Mmmm... it's nice here,\" Mia giggled as a cool breeze whistled down the street,  \nrustling her hair. Rose smiled to her and nodded.  \n  \n\"Yeah, summer's almost over... so it's starting to cool off.\" She looked to Mia and  \nleaned down nuzzling the smaller girl, \"Wanna head home?\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Mia smiled lazily and nodded, leaning into the nuzzles, \"Can we go to your house?\"  \n  \nRose blinked, \"you're sure?\"  \n  \n\"I'm very sure,\" Mia smiled, leaning up and Kissing Rose's cheek.  \n  \nRose smiled and nodded, \"Okay... hold on tightly then...\" she shifted her weight  \nand gently scooped Mia up into her arms. With a wink and a flexing of muscle, her wings  \nopened, and she leapt up, wings grabbing hold of the night air and lifting her skyward with a  \nfew hard pulls. Mia gave a startled squeak and clung to rose tightly, letting the Dragoness  \ncarry her. Within a few minutes, Rose landed in her front yard, carrying a slightly chilled Mia.  \n  \n\"C-cold...\" Mia shivered, teeth chattering faintly.  \n  \nRose hugged her close and smiled, \"here, let's get you inside...\"  \n  \nMia nodded and shivered into Rose's arms, letting her carry her through the door.  \n  \n\"Hmmm... Bath? Or Bed?\"  \n  \nMia shivered and nodded, \"Bed. I'm feeling sleepy.\"  \n  \nRose grinned, \"well, I'm not surprised, as may drinks as you had, I'd bee feeling sleepy too.\"  \n  \n\"You... ugh... had more than I did...\" Mia swooned, the alcohol working it's way through her.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; The dragoness smiles and sat the other girl down on the bed gently, looking at her  \nclosely, \"Yes, but I'm bigger and a bit more resistant to getting drunk.\"  \n  \nMia pointed at her, pouting, \"Mia ish not durnk!\"  \n  \n\"Riiight...\"  \n  \n\"I'll prooove it.
