This poem will be in the poetry book I'm working on.","content":"Have you ever gazed upon  \nthe mighty volcano as it  \nspews forth fire from the   \ndeepest parts of the earth?\n\nHave you ever seen the  \nmighty dragon as it lays  \namidst the boiling lava pits  \nit calls home?\n\nListen to the hissing and  \nchurning of their body as   \nit withstands temperatures  \nand chemicals that would  \nkill any lesser being within  \nminutes.\n\nThe flames of the earth  \nrage within their chest   \nas steam hot enough to   \nkill pours forth from horn  \nand frill.\n\nFearsome claws and sharp  \nfangs show only the slightest   \ncurl of smoke. Hiding weapons  \nthat can melt stone and metal   \nwith barely a hint of effort.\n\nBroad wings tattooed with  \nmarks of fire carry them  \nthrough the sky and across  \ngiant volcanoes and lakes  \nof fire.\n\nCloaked in fumes of smoke  \nand ash they fly through  \nthe clouds and over lands  \nrich in farms and forest.\n\nThe flames of the dragon   \nare always ready and waiting  \nfor just the right spark to ignite  \nthem and send its heat blazing   \ntowards the sky once again.\n\nSmoke rises during the day  \nas the glow from their fire  \nlights up the horizon at night.\n\nNothing burns hotter then  \nthe dragon's flames for even  \nthe scorching heat of their scales   \ncan burn others to the bone.\n\nWithin their breast is fire  \nfrom the deepest parts of the   \nearth. Flames that will burn  \naway all those who dare to  \noppose them.\n\nThey turn their rage not  \non the innocent but upon  \nthe wicked. For these are  \nnot mindless beasts of legend  \nbut warriors who live to   \ndefend those who serve them.\n\nNever mistake their desire  \nfor peace as weakness.  \nFor an enraged dragon   \nwill stop at nothing to   \nensure that justice is  \nserved upon the wicked.\n\nAnd rumor has it that  \nthe pain from their fire  \nnever fades away.\n\n--Written September 1st, 2014\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poems","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/739635-eyes-of-the-eagle.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/777250-acid-sand.json"}}
