Thoughts on happiness... Christmas 2014 :)

Pause. 

Just for a moment. Pause. 

Take a deep breath. Close your eyes. Don't think. Whatever's in your head? Just let it go. 

Don't think. Just be. 

Go ahead... Do it. 

I'll wait. 

...

...

...

How many of us a truly happy?

I mean... Right here. Right now. This moment. Are you truly happy? 

The truth? I'm guessing? Probably not. 

That's why we fill our lives with so many distractions. Work, entertainment, projects, relationships...

We overwhelm ourselves. It's by our own design. 

...Because if we create even an inch of empty space in our heads? We have to confront the horrible truth. 

Every single on of us. are chasing a "thing" that will truly make us "happy".

That includes you. That includes me. 

...And the reality? Nothing ever will. 

I've spent time in the homes of people from every socioeconomic background. 

Every single one of them is equally unhappy.  

Happiness isn't something you can achieve. It's not something you can find. 

Happiness is now. Happiness is this heartbeat. 

Happiness is the breath in our lungs. It's a warm cup of coffee. It's the moments we spend with the people we love. 

We're only alive for an instant. Then it's over. 

This is my Christmas gift to you. One simple phrase. 

Be mindful of this moment... Because nirvana is now.
