Decided to start adding some of my favorite works online.","content":"The darkening trees, the scattered leaves,  \nThe whispering wind all tell me you are there.  \nEach shadow seems to grasp, every root to bite  \nAs the full moon watches this, All Hallow's Eve Night.  \n  \nYour step, your form betray nothing of your wants,  \nBut your glistening eyes give you away.  \nWatching, waiting, sizing me up,  \nBut I will show no fear on this forest road.  \n  \nThe creaking of branches follows your passing,  \nMoving shadows dance on the floor.  \nStill I walk and still I wonder  \nDoes the forest hide foe or friend?  \n  \nIs it the wind that tears my cloak,  \nOr are those grasping claws?  \nSimple nothings spun from moonbeams,  \nOr the roughness of your paws?  \n  \nAnd now I stop, caught up in thought  \nAs you face me 'cross the forest glade.  \nOne move only, right beside me  \nFingers tangled in my hair.  \n  \nYour hot breath, laden with your scent,  \nPours across my upturned face.  \nAs you slowly, ever closer,  \nBend to let our tongues embrace.  \n  \nJolting upright, glancing sideways  \nDew pours off my stiffened frame  \nAs I 'waken from my slumber,  \nMy head shaking at my dream.  \n  \nWalking homeward, calmly stretching,  \nNo forest watcher crossed my mind.  \nYet there you lurked, knowing more-so  \nThat dreams are, in fact, reality.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Pre-made poems","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/832014-open-up.json"}}
