Hope you enjoy your moment in the spotlight, and to everyone, enjoy the duel!","content":"The tournament began, Shimmer looking around.\u0026nbsp; She already had a strategy to get this done as quickly as possible.\u0026nbsp; She quickly found the closest opponent, going over and hiding in a bush near them, watching their every move.\u0026nbsp; Her first target was a Houndoom in a purple blazer.\u0026nbsp; He was doing well, quickly winning his first duel, Shimmer paying attention to his deck.\u0026nbsp; Once she felt she had a good understanding, she goes out of the bush.  \n  \nShimmer: Hey, let's duel.  \n  \nThe male looks over, smiling.  \n  \nHoundoom: Oh...hello there.\u0026nbsp; Did you want to duel?\u0026nbsp; How many Crest Pieces do you have?  \nShimmer: That is of no matter.\u0026nbsp; We'll duel for everything we have.  \n  \nHe raises his eyebrows at that though, as it seemed Shimmer was hiding her's.  \n  \nHoundoom: Um....I'm sorry, but you know the rules, and so do I.\u0026nbsp; How many do you have?  \nShimmer: We'll bet all we have.\u0026nbsp; How's about I sweeten the deal a bit then?  \n  \nShe pulls out a few Poke notes, about 5000.  \n  \nShimmer: You win, you get all my Crest Pieces and the money.\u0026nbsp; I win, all you lose are your Crest Pieces.  \nHoundoom: Hm....alright, let's go for it then.\u0026nbsp; I'm Xross, by the way.\n\nThe two step to the sides, prepping for the duel.\u0026nbsp; The randomizer spins, landing on Xross taking the first move.\n\nXross: Alright, let's begin.\u0026nbsp; I'll start things off by setting one monster, as well as two facedowns.\n\nShimmer: My move.\u0026nbsp; I start off with the Field Spell Madolche Chateau.\n\nThe spell is slotted in, but suddenly, a massive windstorm blows it away.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Shimmer: Let me guess...Mystical Space Typhoon?  \n  \nThe spell was on Xross's field, as he smiles.  \n  \nXross: Heh, I know those things already.\u0026nbsp; Not letting it-\n\nShimmer: I activate another one.\n\nThe castle grows once again, Xross a bit dumbfounded.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nXross: The chances of you having two in your hand at the very start....\n\nShimmer: Where was I...ah, yes.\u0026nbsp; I now summon Madolche Mewfeuille.  \n  \nThe cat appears, mewling softly.  \n  \nShimmer: I then follow with his effect, allowing me to special summon a Madolche from my hand.\u0026nbsp; I summon my Madolche Hootcake.  \n  \nThe owl flies in, landing.  \n  \nShimmer: I now overlay my two level 3 monsters.  \n  \nThe monsters become orange orbs of light, flying into a vortex on the ground.\n\nShimmer: I now Xyz summon Wind-Up Zenmaines!  \n  \nThe large toy monster appears in defense mode.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: I set one card facedown and end my turn.\n\nXross: My move.\u0026nbsp; First things first, I flip summon my monster, Crashbug Z!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe little bomb-headed creature appears, Xross taking another monster.\n\nXross: I then summon my Crashbug Y!  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; The fatter beast appears, as both of them look to each other.  \n  \nXross: And my boys always like to have friends, so when I summon Y while I control Z, I can summon Crashbug X!  \n  \nThe smallest of the bunch appears, all three monsters on the field.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nXross: I now overlay my three monsters together!\u0026nbsp; I Xyz summon Number 34: Terror-byte!  \n  \nThe three monsters fly into the vortex, as the giant mechanical creature appears in defense mode.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: Hm...annoying...  \nXross: I end my turn with that.  \nShimmer: I draw.  \n  \nShe draws her card, looking over what she's got.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: I start off by summoning my Madolche Magileine to the field!  \n  \nThe witch flies in, her fork broomstick glowing.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: I then use her effect, allowing me to add a Madolche monster from my deck to my hand.\u0026nbsp; I add Madolche Puddingcess!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe card flies from Shimmer's deck to her hand, as she takes the other card.\n\nShimmer: I play my Madolche Ticket spell card, and that's all from me.\n\nXross: My move.\u0026nbsp; I use my Terror-Byte's special effect!\u0026nbsp; By detaching an Xyz material from it, I can control a level 4 or lower monster on the field until the end of my turn. Come to me, Magileine!  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Terror-Byte absorbs one of the orbs, as a beam shoots out from it, controlling the witch.\n\nXross: I set one monster, and end my turn.  \n  \nThe witch returns, Shimmer a bit confused.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: Why go through all that to not even use her?  \nXross: You'll see.  \nShimmer: My move.\u0026nbsp; I summon Madolche Messengelato.  \n  \nThe messenger boy runs onto the field, Shimmer smiling.  \n  \nShimmer: I now overlay both of my monsters and Xyz summon my Madolche Tiaramisu!  \n  \nThe two monster fly into the vortex, the queen appearing...before abruptly falling down into a hole.  \n  \nShimmer: W-What the...  \nXross: Hehe.\u0026nbsp; Saw that coming, I used my trap card, Bottomless Trap Hole!  \nShimmer: ....annoying....I end my turn.\n\nXross: My turn.\u0026nbsp; I'll start with a trap card, Dark Smog!\u0026nbsp; By discarding a fiend-type monster, I can banish any monster in your graveyard.\u0026nbsp; I discard my Crashbug X to banish your Madolche Messengelato!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe smog enters her graveyard, as the card flies out and disappears into the void.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nXross: I then summon my Trance Archfiend to the field!  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; The odd blue demon creature appears, screeching.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nXross: I then use his effect.\u0026nbsp; By discarding a Fiend-type monster from my hand, I can boost his attack by 500. I discard Crashbug Z to the graveyard.  \n  \nThe monster pulls the virus-like monster to it, growing in strength.\u0026nbsp; Xross then smirks.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: Hmph....what are you laughing about?\n\nXross: You will see in time....in the meantime, that's all I do.\n\nShimmer: My turn...I set a monster and that's all I do.\n\nXross: My turn.  \n  \nHe draws, looking over his card again.  \n  \nXross: Hm...I end my turn.  \nShimmer: I set another monster and end.  \nXross: I draw.  \n  \nHe looks over both cards, smirking.  \n  \nXross: Time for some fun...first things first, I tribute both Terror-Byte and Trance Archfiend to summon out my monster, Belial, Marquis of Darkness!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe two monsters are sent to the graveyard, as the giant sword-wielding dark angel appears on the field.\u0026nbsp; However...it also falls down into a pit as soon as it's summoned, Shimmer smirking.  \n  \nXross: Tch...a taste of my own medicine...\n\nShimmer chuckles, as her own Bottomless Trap Hole was used.\u0026nbsp; However...Xross just smirks.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Xross: Just as planned...time to have some fun.\n\nShimmer: Excuse me?  \nXross: Time to show you my true mistress. I now banish Trance Archfiend, Belial, and a Crashbug Z.\u0026nbsp; I now summon to the field my Dark Necrofear!  \n  \nThe creepy blue female appears, holding her decaying baby doll.  \n  \nShimmer: Creepy....\n\nXross: Dark Necrofear, attack the facedown monster on the left!  \n  \nDark Necrofear's eyes open, as it fires a beam right at the monster.\u0026nbsp; It was revealed to be Madolche Chouxvalier.\n\nShimmer: My chevalier's effect activates.\u0026nbsp; When she would be destroyed by your hand, I can add her back to my deck.\u0026nbsp; However, while I have my Chateau on the field, I can add her to my hand instead.  \n  \nThe cookie puzzle piece Chouxvalier was on flies to her hand, turning into the card.  \n  \nShimmer: Now my ticket activates.\u0026nbsp; When a Madolche monster is added to my hand, I can add a Madolche monster to my hand.\u0026nbsp; I add my Madolche Marmalmaide.  \n  \nThe card flies from her deck, adding it to her hand.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nXross: I end my turn.\n\nShimmer: My move.\n\nShe draws, looking over her cards.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: I set a monster and a card face-down.\u0026nbsp; That's all.\n\nXross; My move.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; He draws his card, smirking.  \n  \nXross: Let's do this.\u0026nbsp; I banish my three Crashbugs, X, Y, and Z!\u0026nbsp; This allows me to summon out my Super Crashbug!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe three virus fly out of the graveyard, combining together to form the giant thing, but in attack mode with 0 attack.\n\nShimmer: Hm? \u0026nbsp;0 attack?  \nXross: That's because his effect hasn't kicked in yet.\u0026nbsp; While Super Crashbug is on the field, it makes the attack and defense stats of all monsters on the field swap!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nAll monsters on the field have an odd patch on them, looking like a virus as their attack and defense stats are flipped around.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: ....seriously?\n\nXross: Super Crashbug, attack the monster on the left!  \n  \nThe monster attacks, it was Madolche Marmalmaide.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: The combo activates again.\u0026nbsp; Marmalmaide is returned to my hand, and I add Madolche Anjelly to my hand.\n\nXross: Dark Necrofear, attack the other face-down monster!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nIt was revealed as Madolche Butlerusk.\n\nShimmer: He returns to my hand, and I add Madolche Baaple to my hand.\n\nXross: All those monsters...and not a way to make much use of them.\n\nShimmer: We shall see...\n\nShe draws her card, smirking.\n\nShimmer: Let's do this.\u0026nbsp; I now activate my trap card, Madolchepalooza!  \nXross: Madolche...palooza?  \nShimmer: That's right.\u0026nbsp; Now I can summon as many Madolche monsters I can from my hand to the field!\u0026nbsp; They'll all return back to my deck at the end of my turn, but it won't matter anyway.\u0026nbsp; I summon Madolche Chouxvalier, Anjelly, Puddingcess, and Marmalmaide!  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; The four monsters all come out, getting on the field.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nXross: Unbelievable...  \nShimmer: Let's have some fun, shall we?\u0026nbsp; I overlay my Marmalmaide and Chouxvalier to Xyz summon another Queen Tiaramisu!  \n  \nThe monsters enter the vortex, as the queen comes to the field.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: Next, I use Anjelly's effect. By tributing her, I can special summon a Madolche to the field from my deck.\u0026nbsp; I tribute her to summon Madolche Hootcake.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe angel gives a prayer, as she flies up, the owl flying in to take her place.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShimmer: I then summon my Madolche Baaple to the field.\u0026nbsp; I then overlay Baaple and Hootcake to Xyz summon M-X-Saber Invoker.  \n  \nThe warrior monster appears, Shimmer smirking.  \n  \nShimmer: Time to raise some hell.\u0026nbsp; First, I use Tiaramisu's effect.\u0026nbsp; First, I detach an Xyz material.\u0026nbsp; Then, I can return up to two Madolche cards from my graveyard to my deck.\u0026nbsp; I can then return any number of cards you control to your deck.\u0026nbsp; I return Madolchepalooza and Madolche Baaple to my deck to return Dark Necrofear and Super Crashbug back to your deck.\n\nXross: N-No way...  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Tiaramisu gets a giant mixing bowl into the middle of the field, Shimmer's two cards and Xross's monsters going into it as they fly from the bowl, returning to the decks before shuffling.\n\nShimmer: And now that Super Crashbug's gone, all of my monsters are back to their usual stats.\u0026nbsp; And guess what...I'm not done yet.  \nXross: No way, you've already got so much damage output...\n\nShimmer: But not enough to win.\u0026nbsp; But I still have Invoker.\u0026nbsp; By detaching a material from him, I can special summon an Earth Warrior or Beast-Warrior-type monster from my deck.\u0026nbsp; And I have just the one.\u0026nbsp; I summon Madolche Chouxvalier!  \n  \nThe knight runs onto the field, as Shimmer now had a full field.  \n  \nShimmer: Alright then....end it!  \n  \nAll five monsters attack at once, bringing Xross down to 0 in one go.\u0026nbsp; Xross is blasted back, groaning as the buzzer sounds, Shimmer going over.  \n  \nShimmer: Nice duel.\n\nXross: Thanks...that last play was incredible.\n\nShimmer: Thanks.\u0026nbsp; I was actually worried about your Dark Necrofear for a bit, that ability is annoying.  \nXross: Yeah, I didn't expect you to be able to get Queen out so quickly.\u0026nbsp; Here, you earned these.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Shimmer takes his Crest Pieces.\u0026nbsp; She now shows her Star Crest, pinning them on, showing she only had one.  \n  \nXross: So you only had one.\u0026nbsp; You were willing to risk it all on your first duel like that?  \nShimmer: Gotta start somewhere, right?\n\nXross: Well, I'm out.\u0026nbsp; See ya later, Shimmer, best of luck.  \nShimmer: See ya.  \n  \nShe goes off, disappearing back into the brush.\u0026nbsp; She smirks, deciding to rest for a bit once she was hidden.\n\nShimmer: Ah, I do enjoy a good hunt now and then....\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Grand Duel Academy","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/838093-grand-duel-academy-tournament-hudson-1.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/897733-grand-duel-academy-chapter-rose-2.json"}}
