{"sf1_id":844167,"sf2_id":"7ej2LK4e","title":"Poem #23","author":"Shadowfortuna","words":306,"posted_at":"2015-04-06T01:14:00.000Z","tags":["Dark","Emotional","Poem"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/844167-poem-23","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/7ej2LK4e","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/2a/8b/2a8b48c4-8c54-4592-a0ef-23eb4622fb62","description":"#22 of My Poems\n\nanother poem.","content":"My muscles tremble and spasm,  \nthe pain moving to a higher level,\u0026nbsp;  \nat every turn, it gets worse,  \nPowerful, sweet, sharp and unending.\n\nEvery fiber and strand feels as if ignited,  \nBurning brightly, the heat grows in waves,  \nNo end in sight, i feel like i should glow,  \nAs if i live in a sun, the burning increases.\n\nI feel like i could break at any moment,  \nBut my will won't allow it,\u0026nbsp;  \ni must be strong for everyone,  \nfor they have been strong for me,\u0026nbsp;  \nunderstanding and loving.\n\nAs darkness descends upon me,\u0026nbsp;  \nSurely i am not worthy,  \nYet they support me at every turn.  \nWhy do i always smell so much blood?  \nThat stench of iron?  \nThings are so different now.\n\nMy body feels exhausted, Drained and dry,\u0026nbsp;  \nit takes everything i have not to show my pain.  \nEven as i want to just drop to the ground and cry,  \nI want to scream at the sky,  \nTo pound at the dirt with my hands.\n\nI wish i could destroy it all, if i could,\u0026nbsp;  \nBut i can't slip down into oblivion,  \nSomething in my soul,  \ndeep in my heart,  \nTells me this would be too easy.\n\nAs my anger in my body grows,  \nAt the apex of all that rage,\u0026nbsp;  \nsuddenly i feel no pain,\u0026nbsp;  \nonly a sense of power.\n\nThis monster i keep a leash on,\u0026nbsp;  \nIt yearns to be released,  \nBut if i loosen my grip,\u0026nbsp;  \ndarkness will consume me.\n\nI feel so tired.\u0026nbsp;  \nI must remain on guard.  \nBut when my vigil ends.  \nSurely i can rejoice,  \nThough i will also be saddened.  \nI don't ever want to leave those who love me so.\n\nThis is my burden,\u0026nbsp;  \na weight on my shoulders  \nIn the end, Death comes for all.  \nSomeday in the future, it will come for me too.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"My Poems","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/842224-poem-21.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/871414-poem-24.json"}}
