I am back from my arbitrary bout of inexistence. Sorry this chapter is shorter, but, hey, it's got a good bit of story in it.","content":" After being rushed to fifth period by Seth, I found myself in a chemistry class with Dante, Gavin, and Marko.\n\n \"Oh, so the new guy's in a , huh?\" [Marko]\n\n \"Shut up, Mark.\" [Dante]\n\n \"Hey, I'm just pointing it out-\"\n\n \"Marko, you know damn well what you're doing. It's not like you can change it anyways.\" [Gavin]\n\n \"Change what?\" [Me]\n\n \"Oh, right.\" [Dante]\n\n \"Yeah, who let slip about it?\" [Marko]\n\n \"See, I would've dismissed that, until you hinted at it being a secret, which then peaked my curiosity.\" [Me]\n\n \"God dammit.\" [Gavin]\n\n \"Oh, come on! You can trust me, I'll only tell everyone.\" [Me]\n\n \"Alex, this isn't a secret you can use to black mail me.\" [Marko]\n\n \"Yeah, when people find out, it'll destroy everything.\" [Dante]\n\n \"Oh, yeah right!\" [Me]\n\n \"Well, it is a big deal. It'd be pretty embarrasing if anyone found out.\" [Gavin]\n\n \"Embarrasing my ass, it'd feel like the end.\" [Dante]\n\n \"Okay, fine, I won't pester you about it. Instead, I'll pester you about being ass hole.\" [Me]\n\n \"Hey, what'd I ever do to you?\" [Gavin]\n\n \"He's talking to me.\" [Marko]\n\n \"Oh, right.\"\n\n \"So, what do you think you know? I mean, there's probably a lot more to the story that you don't know.\" [Marko]\n\n \"Titus called Ted, Teddy Bear, and you and Tanner made it way worse by saying things like he's as worthless as one.\" [Me]\n\n \"Oh, well, you have more to the story than I'd like. Fine. It's over and done with, anyways. Not like I can take it back.\" [Marko]\n\n \"Oh, you mean find a way to settle things with Ted?\" [Me]\n\n \"Yeah, is there?\"\n\n \"Yeah, dump Tanner.\"\n\n \"No. I spent too long trying to get him, I'm not-\"\n\n \"Look, Tanner's the one who worsened the teasing, and Ted wants him dead. Since murder is illegal, suffering will have to do. Dump him.\"\n\n \"Hey, I like Ted, but I love Tanner. I'm not dumping him just so Ted can feel a little better about his psychotic self.\"\n\n \"Yeah, you're pretty much asking him to do the impossible.\" [Dante]\n\n \"If someone told me and Dante to break up, I'd kill them. You know, after a couple months.\" [Gavin]\n\n \"Wait, you two are dating?\" [Me]\n\n \"Three, Dustin's in with them. To make it weirder, they're all related. Fuckin' tripcest, man.\" [Marko]\n\n \"Tripcest- oh. Oh, cool.\"\n\n \"Cool?!\" [Marko]\n\n \"Yeah, brotherly love, but a little more sexual.\" [Me]\n\n \"Oh, finally. Someone who gets it.\" [Dante]\n\n \"I mean, it's completely weird, but...\"\n\n \"At least you're okay with it.\" [Gavin]\n\n \"Yeah...\"\n\n \"... So, is there any reasonable thing I can do to get Ted back on my side?\" [Marko]\n\n \"Probably not.\" [Me]\n\n \"Hm.\"\n\n \"What if you- wait, no. Nevermind.\" [Gavin]\n\n \"What if I what?\" [Marko]\n\n \"Stop acting, you know what, and you know it doesn't change anything.\" [Dante]\n\n \"God dammit, maybe it will!\" [Marko]\n\n \"I doubt that, especially since I'm the one who studies it more.\" [Dante]\n\n \"Oh come on, it's a river, we can choose which way we go!\"\n\n \"No. No we can't. It may be a river, but each drop of water follows a set path, and that path doesn't change, because all the variables have already been accounted for, and already shape the future.\"\n\n \"... What the fuck are you talking about?\" [Me]\n\n \"Oh, uhh... nothing.\" [Dante]\n\n \"Time. He's got this crazy idea that we can predict all the events of the future- and past. Marko believes the opposite, that we can choose our own destiny, and that nothing's set in stone. I don't know why, but they're both really opinionated about it.\" [Gavin]\n\n \"Wait, so their secret is that they're unusually opinionated about time? Wow, some secret.\" [Me]\n\n Marko blushed, \"Heh, that's part of it, but you get the idea.\"\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Astral High","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/854589-astral-high-chapter-28.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/857831-astral-high-chapter-30.json"}}
