{"sf1_id":880090,"sf2_id":"rm8opBle","title":"Fallen soldier","author":"james mikoto","words":180,"posted_at":"2015-06-28T18:41:00.000Z","tags":["Poems","Poetry","sickness"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/880090-fallen-soldier","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/rm8opBle","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/b8/94/b8940c35-94e7-4db0-b615-9456d154989d","description":"#3 of poetry","content":"There are just a few things that can hit you so hard  \nThat even years later you are left emotionally scarred.  \nIt is the word that makes me freeze,  \nWhen all I really want to do, I scream.  \nThis thing that scares me so much is cancer.  \nBut she is too tough, I was sure it couldn't get her.  \nThis awful word has taken my family and friends  \nAnd leaves deep cuts I am afraid will never fully mend  \nBut it doesn't make sense, she is such a strong woman  \nI looked up to her for standing by through thick and thin.  \nI tell my mother she can't be right  \nIt couldn't get her, she would put up too big a fight.  \nThey say there are fights you just can't win  \nBut I know this woman, she will never give in.  \nThis is the woman who wouldn't lay to rest  \nUntil she felt her daughters did their best.  \nAll I know is that she will win this fight  \nAnd until that day I will pray  \nfor her heart every night.  \n  \n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/867478-feel-good.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/882809-angels-and-demons.json"}}
