He ran frantically in\nthe street, clutching and scratching at his face in a poor attempt to pry the\nmask from him. Every time he pulled and ripped at the mask, he couldn't get it\noff.\n\"Gahhh!!\" Why can't I get this fucking thing off!?\nHe stopped briefly to catch\nhis breath. The rain continued to pour on him and the rest of the city; his\nshoes, ripped jeans, and black hoodie were soaked.\nAm I becoming one of them? Those...unhumans? He quickly moved his head from one side of the street to\nthe other; not a soul to be found.\nNot only did the rain hinder\nhis vision, but the masks dingy lenses also blocked his peripherals. The scent\nof the storm and whatever hallucinogenic substance was left in the mask's beak\nwere all that he could smell. Furiously, he reached behind his head and grabbed\nat the strap holding the mask in place, hoping to find some binding or lose\narea to take it all off.\nThen he moved his hands to\nthe sides of his head.\nHe only felt a slimy\nsubstance where the back of the mask would be, past his ears. The mask and his\nscalp immediately began to fuse together.\n\"Ahhh! No! I'm not one of\nthem!\"\nPain seared through his head\nwhile mask and flesh continued to become one.\nAfter what felt like an\neternity of torture, the pain stopped coming.\nWhy did I go there? I just wanted to try some of that\nCrystal Root. I didn't ask for this...this curse!\nGoing at a half-walk,\nhalf-run, he ran down the street, swaying slightly as he went. He collapsed\ninto the nearest alleyway in a wet heap, hitting his head on a dumpster. The\nlast thing he saw before blacking out was a silhouette of a bird-like creature\napproaching from the depths of the alley.\nHe stirred and opened his\neyes, vision still hindered by the mask's lenses. Getting up from the couch he\nwas laying on, he panicked at the sudden change of his surroundings and his\nlack of cloths, save for his underwear. Across from him was a small table and\ntwo chairs, both of which had his cloths hanging over them, next to a\ncountertop, kitchen sink, a small, electric stove, and a microwave. A small bed\nwas in the corner next to the couch, his host laying on top of it. Near the\ndoor to the apartment was a small closet, the bathroom right across. \nUgh...my head. He\nglanced at the bird creature. I hope\nthat...thing didn't try to bang me while I was out. Fuck.\nHe got up from the couch to\nget his cloths when his host woke.\n\"Oh, you just got up? How're\nyou -\"\nHe pinned the bird-woman's\nshoulders. \"Did you take advantage of me just now!? Did you? Huh?\"\n\"No! I didn't! I only wanted\nto help!\" she pleaded. \"I-I just happen to see you hit your h-head and -\"\nHe freed a hand and grasped\nher thick, hooked beak. \"I can't trust you-you...unhuman's anymore!\" He then took\nboth hands and grasped the top and bottom of her beak. Fueled by a sudden burst\nof furious strength, he managed to pry open the falcon's beak, despite her\nfight against him. The joints on her beak gave a loud *crack* that resonated throughout the studio apartment. Blood\npoured down her cheeks and onto the bed as she drew her last breaths. \nHe breathed heavily,\nunintentionally inhaling the substance in the mask's beak. Still straddling\nher, he leaned in close to her ear hole and whispered, \"You know, if you\nweren't this disgusting, feathered...thing,\nI'd probably have a little fun with ya.\" He leaned back up and got off of her.\n\"I should get going. I need to find some more...patients that need healing.\"\nAfter putting his slightly\ndamp cloths on, he walked out the door. As he headed out of the apartment\nbuilding, he pulled his hood up and took a deep breath of the substance in the\nmask-beak.\nI need to pay a visit to those dirty dogs. They've got\nanother thing coming for what they did to me."}
