{"sf1_id":886725,"sf2_id":"3egzOWj1","title":"True colours that I seek.","author":"james mikoto","words":292,"posted_at":"2015-07-15T20:35:00.000Z","tags":["ColorsOfSummer 2012","Love","Poems","Poetry","summer landscape"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/886725-true-colours-that-i-seek","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/3egzOWj1","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/79/a3/79a3fd6d-510f-4f9e-931d-c95ed6f2a79b","description":"#3 of take in the scenery","content":"This is not easy to understand\u0026nbsp;  \nFor you that come from a distant land\u0026nbsp;  \nWhere all the\u0026nbsp;colours are low in pitch -\u0026nbsp;  \nDeep purples, deep\u0026nbsp;emeralds\u0026nbsp;and rich man,\u0026nbsp;  \nWhere autumn's flaming and summer's green -\u0026nbsp;  \nHere is a beauty the\u0026nbsp;you have not seen.\u0026nbsp;  \n  \nAll is pitched in a higher key,\u0026nbsp;  \nLilac, topaz, and ivory,\u0026nbsp;  \nPalest jade-green and pale clear blue\u0026nbsp;  \nLike aquamarines that the sun shines through,\u0026nbsp;  \nGolds and silvers, we have at will -\u0026nbsp;  \nSilver and gold on each plain and hill,\u0026nbsp;  \nSilver-green of all the\u0026nbsp;leaves,\u0026nbsp;  \nTiny gold of the garnered sheaves,\u0026nbsp;  \nSilver rivers that is a silent slide,\u0026nbsp;  \nGolden sands by the water-side,\u0026nbsp;  \n  \nGolden wattle, and golden broom,\u0026nbsp;  \nSilver stars of the rosewood bloom;\u0026nbsp;  \nAmber sunshine, and smoke-blue shade:\u0026nbsp;  \nOpal colours that glow and fade;\u0026nbsp;  \nOn the gold of the upland grass\u0026nbsp;  \nBlue cloud-shadows that swiftly pass;\u0026nbsp;  \nWood-smoke blown in an azure mist;\u0026nbsp;  \nHills of tenuous amethyst. . .\u0026nbsp;  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;the colours are pitched so high\u0026nbsp;  \nThe deepest note is the cobalt\u0026nbsp;sky;\u0026nbsp;  \nWe have to wait till the sunset comes\u0026nbsp;  \nFor shades that feel like the beat of drums -\u0026nbsp;  \nOr like organ notes in their rise and fall -\u0026nbsp;  \nPurple,\u0026nbsp;orange and cardinal,\u0026nbsp;  \nOr the peacock-green that turns soft and slow\u0026nbsp;  \nTo peacock-blue as the great stars show . . .\u0026nbsp;  \n  \nSugar-gum boles flushed to peach-blow pink;\u0026nbsp;  \nBlue-gums, tall at the clearing's brink;\u0026nbsp;  \nIvory pillars, their smooth fine slope\u0026nbsp;  \nDraped with delicate heliotrope;\u0026nbsp;  \nGrey of the twisted mulga-roots;\u0026nbsp;  \nGolden-bronze of the budding shoots;\u0026nbsp;  \nTints of the lichens that cling and spread,\u0026nbsp;  \nNile-green, primrose, and palest red . . .\u0026nbsp;  \n  \nSheen of the bronze-wing; blue of the crane;\u0026nbsp;  \nFawn and pearl of the lyre-bird's train;\u0026nbsp;  \nCream of the plover; grey of the dove -\u0026nbsp;  \nThese are the hues of the land I love.  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"take in the scenery","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/884610-the-moon-is-out-tonight.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/959822-calamity.json"}}
