Hidden beneath a condemned\nbuilding near the Lake Ontario waterfront, the base is operated and inhabited\nby Warp's friend and ally, former Yakuza member Akio Akechi, who creates his\ntools and also designed his costume. The Bunker is powered by a diesel-fueled\ngenerator hidden in the basement of the building above, which is sealed off by\na boarded-up door.\nThe\nBunker consists of only four rooms. The main room, where Akio spends most of\nhis day, is called the work area, and divided into two sections; the work\nbench, where Warp's tools are made by Akio himself, and the listening post with\na state-of-the-art computer, a police scanner, and a radio and television that\nare always tuned to local news networks, where Warp can monitor happenings\naround the city while not out on patrol. Since Akio never leaves The Bunker, a\nfold-out cot is placed next to the listening post where he can sleep.\nThe\nother two rooms are located at the back. The first is known as the wash closet,\nwhere a laundry and bathroom facilities can be found, tapped directly into the\ncity's water main, and the base has its own hot water heater, powered by\nelectricity. Akio was driven to\njoining the Tokyo Police as a Forensic Scientist, and creating electronic\ndevices that would revolutionize policing in Japan, until heforced into joining\nthe Yakuza to pay off a debt owed to them by his father, who had declared\nbankruptcy and was promptly assassinated by the criminal organization. \n               But they were not willing to let this\ndebt go unpaid, and so at gunpoint, ordered Akio to put his inventive skills to\nuse for them. Without a word to anyone who knew him, he simply disappeared from\nthe world, and was shipped to Toronto, where he was put to work with the\nKameyama family.\n               He created tools for hacking\ncomputers and breaking open vaults and safes for the Kameyama family, allowing\nthem to take their extortion racket in Toronto to a whole new level; those who\ndidn't pay their protection fees were instead robbed of every cent they had. Those\nwho resisted were slaughtered publically, sending a message throughout the city\nthat the Yakuza were in control. For three years, Akio was forced to do this,\nand hated every moment of it, but there was nothing he could do.\n               However, fortune smiled upon him,\nwhen The Warp appeared at the complex where Akio was kept prisoner. When he was\napproached by the vigilante, Akio told him of his plight and begged him for\nhelp; Warp rescued Akio from the Yakuza base, sealing a bond of friendship and\ngratitude between himself and Akio. Sadly, though, Akio had lost everything he\nowned back home in Tokyo, and had nothing to return to, not to mention\ntechnically being an illegal immigrant to Canada and a collaborator with the\nYakuza, he was already a fugitive, leaving him nowhere to go.\n               Akio offered his help to Warp,\nand in return for his acceptance, he presented Warp with everything he knew\nabout the Yakuza and the Kameyama family; his evidence lead Warp straight to\nthe leader of the operations in Toronto, Kameyama Takeo. Gratefully, Warp\naccepted Akio's offer, and together they built The Bunker in Toronto, and after\nWarp defeated and ensured the incarceration of Kameyama Takeo, the two joined\nforces indefinitely, and became the perfect team.\n               Since then, Akio has developed\nmany of the tools The Warp employs, including his costume, the nanotech infused\nmask that disguises him, and more; he is Warp's greatest ally, and from the\ndiary of Daniel Tonraq we have this statement:\n               \"I may have been the one out in the field, putting my life in danger,\nbut without Akio's brilliance, I would never have lived as long as I have on\nthis crusade. He is my greatest ally and one of the best friends I could ever\nhave.\"\n"}
