I haven't forgotten about the stories I've promised, don't worry. Those will be out soon ^^","content":"What happens when I hit the reset button?  \n The game is lost, my progress too.  \n No NPCs will remember me.  \n A new game begins.\n\nThings will be different.  \n A new character emerges,   \n in all ways different from the last.  \n I'll miss the last character's powers,  \n in ways I never thought I would.  \n Is it nostalgia?  \n Is it regret?  \n Would I be better off in this new life?  \n Only one way to find out,  \n and that's by living.\n\nBut what if that character is not to my liking?  \n What if it turns out worse than this one?  \n Starting over once again  \n from Level 1.  \n Weak, unlearned, undisciplined.  \n Why can't I press 'Start' to skip the prologue?  \n Where are the cheat codes,  \n that I may be born with unstoppable power?  \n Where are the glitches  \n that allow me to exploit physics  \n and make the world my own?\n\nPowerless. Defenseless. 'Squishy'. Unknown.  \n Why must I be here?  \n Why can't I go back  \n to my last save?\n\nBecause I reset the game.\n\nThis character is superior to the last  \n in all areas that don't matter.  \n Dexterity. Computer Use. Swim. Pilot.  \n I don't need these stats.  \n I need my last save, the one  \n with maxed-out Fly, Acrobatics and Attack,  \n the one where I ruled the skies,  \n those azure jewels I may never touch again.\n\nAll because I reset the game.\n\nThere is no pause button in this multiplayer game.  \n The game always continues,  \n whether you play it or not.  \n The only subscription fee  \n is your time and your memories  \n of previous characters you played,  \n on a monthly payment plan.\n\nPerhaps if I reset again, things will get better?  \n Maybe my randomly generated character  \n will get lucky rolls on his or her stats.  \n But even so, it will not be the same as  \n my previous character.  \n That one may be gone forever.  \n Forgotten.  \n Is my current character destined for the same fate?\n\nMy finger lies on the reset button.  \n Do I try again? Save over the last file?  \n Lose all progress and start all over?  \n Or grind my stats,  \n level up slowly  \n and see what this character can become?  \n Should I try to get through this deep dark dungeon  \n one last time?  \n Become LFP: Looking For Party,  \n and seek fellow adventurers to stand by me  \n to help me defeat the final boss?\n\nWhat happens when I hit the reset button?\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poems","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1008278-the-walnut-tree.json"}}
