Just a silly little story that held my captive last night.
The events in this little story and simple puzzle are entirely fictitious.

One night not so long I was visiting a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in really quite some time.
A friendly wolf who mostly kept to themselves.
The evening was pleasant but the midnight oil was beginning to dwindle.
The last conversation we had went like this:

Friend: I like having you here
Leo: Yeah, it's been good seeing ya again
Friend: Will you stay tonight? There's a spare room.
Leo: Eh sure, it's a bit late to be walking home anyway.
Friend: Kill some time here then, it gets lonely here all by myself...
Leo: Agreed, living alone can be tough.
Friend: You look exhausted, You should probably go to bed and head straight to sleep.
Leo: It has been a long day to be fair.
Friend: In the morning I'll have a lot to take care of. We should sleep
Leo: Sure, see you in the morning
Friend: Your room is the first bedroom on the right, just go to sleep
Leo: Goodnight
Friend: Sleep Tight

At the time I thought nothing of it and why should I? We both looked tired and promptly, I at least. Headed to bed.
In a short time though... I began to shake. I could feel my palms go sweaty and a cold shiver ran down my spine
as I thought about the conversation we had.
I had to get out now!
I listened at the door and waited for my 'friend' to go to his room. No sooner than they did, I had the window open
so I could climb out and run all the way home as quick as my paws could carry me. Hoping never to see him again.

The question however is... what scared me?
