Figured it would tide you over until I get bigger and better things written. Hope you enjoy it. It's very short, like one of the others I wrote recently, and filled with a little bit of humor. Hope you appreciate it. I have marked it as adult just so someone doesn't get upset.","content":"Mrs. Wigglesworth hardly considered\nherself a snoop, but when she happened upon her daughter's diary hidden under\nher mattress, she had to have a mental argument with herself over whether or\nnot the contents should remain private, or if she, as a mother, should have a\nlook. In the end, her natural noisiness won out.\nIt wasn't that she didn't trust her\ndaughter precisely, but the girl had been once in a very dark mood, yet for the\npast few months she had seemed to have bloomed and now showed more of an\ninterest in so many things. She had never asked her about it, but maybe this\nwas the time to find out.\nShe flipped back through the pages until\nshe found the approximate time this all started. There wasn't much there. The\nentries were abbreviated, much like the texts she sent, so making sense of them\nwas a little difficult at first.\n\"Sept 29th. Haley said I should try glass in art class. I'm\nnot too sure about that.\"\nA few more entries that didn't say\nmuch and then another about her art class.\n\"Oct 12th. Took Haley's dare to have a go at glass. It wasn't\nquite what I thought it would be. Might have possibilities.\"\nShe flipped through the pages,\nintrigued that her daughter had taken an involvement in something as\ninteresting as glass working and had never mentioned it. Oh well, maybe she was\nmaking something to surprise her wonderful, doting mother with, and therefore\nhad opted to keep it a secret until the final moment. After all, Christmas was merely\na month away!\nCuriosity got the better of her so\nshe kept on reading. After all, now there were hints at what might be coming\nduring the yuletide season. A vase might be nice, but then, a few orange\ncolored carrots to set on the end table might be a nice conversation starter with\nthe neighbors.\n\"October 19th. Blowing glass was an interesting experience.\nSo hot and viscous. Not sure what to do with it. Still learning I guess.\" \nThis was followed by one talking about\nher friend.\n\"October 23rd. Haley's really getting into this. I think I might have to try harder or\nshe'll beat me out on all the fun.\"\n\"My, my. My little girl in a\ncompetition with her friend! It'll be interesting to see who does a better\npiece. I'll bet my little bunny-girl will come out on top!\"\nThere was a bit in the pages about\na fight at the school, and then an entry talking about how she had feelings for\na teacher. Mrs. Wigglesworth smiled. She had once had a crush on one of the teachers\nin her school too. Too bad she didn't say who it was. It might be interesting\nto see if she, being a mother and a former teenager, could pick the fine fellow\nout in the faculty roster. But alas, all she talked about was her art class\nsome more.\nThe last entry, and thus bringing\nthe diary up to date, was this one.\n\"November 7th. Took the plunge. I think I'm really liking\nthis a lot. The heat is hard to get used to and the effort makes me sweat, but\nI think that I hooked.\"\nMrs. Wigglesworth put the diary\nback where she found it and continued to straighten up the room. As she did,\nshe kept imagining all sorts of neat things that her daughter was making at\nschool. Kids today had so much more available to them. When she was in school,\ngirls took home economics. Now days, females had the freedom to do all kinds of\ninnovative things.\nThe weeks passed by and her\ndaughter seemed to be both happier and a little more secretive. That was understandable,\nconsidering that she was trying to keep whatever she was making a secret. So\nbeing the good and patient mother that she was, she mentioned nothing to her\ndaughter about peeking into her diary and simply waited until school was going\nto let out for the fall semester.\nWhy then in particular? Well, she\nwas informed that their art class was going to have an open house before the\nend of the year to showcase the materials that the students had been doing all\nyear.\nMrs. Wigglesworth was very excited.\nShe was a very proud mother indeed\nwhen she entered into the art exhibition with her daughter. True, the girl ran\noff before showing her the items she had made, but she was a resourceful\nmatron. She would find them on her own.\nBut try though she might, she found\nnothing remotely resembling what she had expected to find. A handsome gentleman\nhare came up, approached her with a smile and asked, \"Can I help you find\nsomething?\"\nThe long-eared lady was a little distracted.\n\"I suppose. I'm looking for my daughter's art project.\"\n\"I see,\" he said. \"And you are?\"\n\"Harriet Wigglesworth.\"\n\"Oh, I should have seen the family resemblance.\nChastity has your good looks.\"\nShe turned and smiled at him,\nblushing a little under her white fur.\n\"Why, you're too kind, mister...?\"\n\"Oh, I'm the art teacher here. My\nname is Howard. Howard Glass...\""}
