First it was just a ship, then an entire armada.  \nThey called themselves Kukamia, a reptile-like humanoid race, who sought through mutation and genetic experiments always for perfection.  \nTheir greed and their hunger was surpassed only by their infinite power claims.  \nThey were not unknown to us, a year before they raided some of our outposts on other planets.  \nThey left no survivors, only the monitoring systems could tell us what had happened.  \nBut I had never expected that they would attack our home planet Adora.  \nTheir technology was decades, if not centuries, behind ours, but it was almost impossible to defend our cities long against them.  \nWhile we initially had small losses and reconquered almost any city, the time came where the Kukamia fought back with a mighty army.  \nFor each Kukamia, who was killed by us waited hundreds of taking his place.  \nFirst the battles lasted only a few days, but the days turned into weeks, weeks into months and months into years, until finally the Supreme Council decided to abandon the planet, our home.  \n\"We can't win\", they argued.  \nSo we gathered supplies and re-built our fleet, so that the civilian population could live on the ships for several years.  \nIt was a black day for each Lupain when the evacuation was completed, but it should be even worse.  \nWe had to look on helplessly as a decision was carried out, which none of us would ever have agreed.  \nSince the entire Kukamia armada and all known Kukamia were on Adora, the supreme Council precipitated the conclusion that Adora would be finally freed from the Kukamia.  \nAll remaining Lupains were already as good as death and if the Kukamia wouldn't find any more animals on Adora the remaining Lupains would be the only edible things.  \nTo spare them this cruel fate the supreme Council decided with a power weapon to wipe out all organic life on Adora.  \nA new settlement would not be a long-term problem with the collected plant seeds.  \nTherefore, we had to watch as a huge energy beam extinguished all life on Adora.  \nThe energy was so powerful that it destroyed not only the planet's surface as planned, but even penetrated through to the core. The planet was thus completely destroyed.  \nWe sacrificed our families to defeat the Kukamia, in the end we didn't have anything of our victory.  \nHomeless we searched in vain a new planet in our direct vicinity, but we found no planet on which we could live.  \nThe supreme Council of our society decided that our fleet should be split in the universe until we find a planet that is suitable for us.  \nOn the way to a new world our communications system was heavily damaged by an asteroid.  \nWe had no way to repair the damage quickly, a repair would cost us months of time.  \nDuring the speech of our Council about the delay and food rationing one of our probes reported it's status.  \nWe could see images of a nearby planet, it was ten times as large as Adora and consisted of seventy percent water.  \nWe quickly realized that this planet could be inhabited, several satellites were orbiting it.  \nFirst, our Council said that we should ignore this planet.   \nWe were too proud and honorable, we shouldn't plead to an alien species to help us.  \nBut our food was sabotaged, some sort of mold spread through the ship, half of our stock was affected.  \nBecause of the lack of food and water diseases spread.  \nWe contacted the alien species that referred to itself as human.  \nAs our Council landed on the planet in a big city, humans met us like heroes.  \nEverywhere these humans were on the streets and celebrated us.  \nWith their cameras and smartphones they took pictures of us, we could see welcome signs \"aliens welcome\" with many hearts on them.  \nWe were overjoyed to meet such a friendly and helpful species.\n\n\u0026nbsp;13.01.2040  \nTwo years have now passed since we landed on Earth.  \nFor three months there is a program, thirty voluntary Lupains in the US took part in it.  \nThey should find out as much information about the human history and culture as possible at universities.  \nThis program should enable our two species to learn from each other.  \n  \n28.01.2041  \nThe United States demanded of us that we share our technologies with them.  \nBut the participants of the program warned us that humanity has already led many wars.  \nWe couldn't refer to the humans as peaceful species anymore. We refused.  \n  \n29.03.2041  \nWe refused to share our technologies.  \nThe United States requests that we disappear.  \nBut we can't pursue their claims.  \nWe are still working on repairing our communication system.  \nIn addition, we are waiting for a signal from the rest of the fleet to move to a new uninhabited planet.  \n  \n11.05.2041  \nThe US fears an invasion, thus the United States Air Force attacked our ship.  \nOur hunters could destroy the Air Force, but the price was high.  \nOver one hundred Lupains died in this attack, our ship was severely damaged.  \nThe communication system had been completely destroyed.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;12.05.2041  \nOur entire soldiers and hunters lead a counter strike.  \nAfter the attack, many volunteers reported for military service.  \n  \n14.09.2041  \nAfter heavy fighting we could conquer the city of Washington and the entire airspace.  \n  \n20.09.2041  \nThe Air Force retaliated and destroyed Washington.  \nHundreds of soldiers and thousands of civilians died in the attack.  \nIn the human media we are blamed for the attack.  \nExcept for the White House, the entire city is in ruins.  \nThe US Army sends thousands of ground troops.  \n  \n30.09.2041  \nWe sent all our heavily armored units to Washington and retook the city.  \nWe discovered mass graves as we looked around for the President and the Vice President.  \nHundreds Lupains and civilians were shot there.  \n  \n03.10.2041  \nWe stormed the White House and searched the President of the United States.  \nThe surviving civilians helped us in the search.  \nWe finally found a bunker where he should stay.  \nThen we opened the bunker under the White House, but found no one in there.  \nWe got the tip that the president and vice president are trying to escape unnoticed as civilians.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;12.10.2041  \nWe successfully arrested the President, the vice president and some senior military officials of the United States.  \nThe US Army has ceased hostilities.  \n  \n20.10.2041  \nAll Lupains who participated in the program have disappeared.  \n  \n30.04.2042  \nAll Lupains that participated in the program were declared dead by a council member.  \nAlthough there were no bodies, the search is stopped completely. \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;  \n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Old Story2","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/936110-wip-2047-a-d-heavens-fall-en-001.json"}}
