# The Pathway

How to refuse the passion
Presented
under the halo
Accept
me for this longing
To
crawl beneath the soil
And
find the pieces that lie
Beneath the waving truth
As I
stare above the future
Encased
in flames
Extinguished
by the cold touch
From
the blood that spilled
A
distance travelled in stride
A smile
that gazed upon the Sun
Reflecting
into the deep darkness
I feel
the tug
From
the gangly spider
Entangled
in my mind
8
directions
Seeing
myself
Through
all 6 eyes
But
unable to see
A
positive reflection
I no
longer fight
And
feel its legs enclose
Suffocating
a desire
To push
back
The
strength I feel
Has
left before I could
Bounded
I walk
Living
in harmony
With
the futility
That
creased my mind
Forgetting
the reasons
That
brought me to stand
Before
your ungainly knowledge
I
accept your desertion
As the
beast that binds me
Carries
my heart through the storm
Of
light and song
A
careless direction of a focused mind
Into
the ground I go
For
your words have lost me
Under
the blanket I go
Where
the darkness will comfort the lonely child
