{"sf1_id":938824,"sf2_id":"GnDwWJ0m","title":"Nature Daughter's Lament- WoW Fan Poetry","author":"SkyeSouthpaw","words":277,"posted_at":"2015-11-29T03:47:00.000Z","tags":["Alliance","Druid","Elf","Horde","Hunting","Lion","Night","Of","Panther","Poem","Rabbit","Warcraft","Wolf","Wow","sadness","world"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/938824-nature-daughter-s-lament-wow-fan-poetry","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/GnDwWJ0m","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/b5/df/b5dff088-e1a0-425b-8cab-9998bc7e45d0","description":"#2 of Standalone Stories and Poems\n\nA night elf druid bemoans her lack of companionship ever since she has embraced the spirit of Teldrassil.","content":"As Lady Sun sinks behind arches of wood,  \nTeldrassil maiden, tall and slender, with hair of sapphire  \nEyes of emerald; she crouches, alert.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;She keeps watch over Ents of  \nold.  \n  \nShe thinks of her home: family, fireplace, a bed of silk instead of  \nAncient's petals.  \nShe thinks of all she's left behind.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;Then, her hand brushes her blade's  \nhilt.  \nShe chose this, to be Nature's Daughter.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;O Destiny's cruel twist!  \n  \nShe's so lonely, alone.  \n  \nWith a cry of sorrow, and a flash as of ether, she is gone.  \nWolf spirit, loosened, dashes through the greeny shadow.\n\nLeave it behind, leave it.  \n  \nThe wind tears through Changling's fur, as if alive.  \nTawny leaves dance in her wake,  \nA trail of pawprints left in her place  \nAnd power in sinew and muscle ripple.  \n  \nShe's free!\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;But what is freedom, but a thing so fleeting?  \n  \nA fragile thing, black as night, bounds through the woods  \nA hardy adventurer, though so frail, so easily crushed...  \nWith a growl of triumph, and a pounce, Changling earns her dinner.  \n  \nAgain she runs, and faster, her titan legs barely touching ground.  \nShe is flying!\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;Or as close as an Earthbound can get...  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;But she must stop, her strength ebbed, and the loneliness comes back in  \nforce.  \nTo the top of a precipice she goes, overlooking Elwynn.  \nAnd mournful, tormented howl of demon beast stirs the heart of most.  \n  \nAs she howled, again she changed;  \nBack to the form of lesser self  \nAnd as she did, howl became scream on her lips.  \nShe fell to her knees, mourning her pain, her family, friends  \nShe would never see again.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;Twas the law,  \nFor this is the fate of Nature's Daughters.  \n  \nLonely, alone...\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Standalone Stories and Poems","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/938822-ozan-riverwhisper-a-character-study.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/938839-shifting-shadows-a-character-study-odd-perspective.json"}}
