Poem I wrote as I was learning to come out of my shell

With new eyes on the horizon
A new flame arises

Despite the love lost,
Affection and care take its place
Enjoying the days and nights together
And pushing through the days apart

Surrounded by those that see me
Those who listen and laugh
Smiling faces and good memories
Continually filling my mind

This feeling all around me
Awakens a ball of flame

The only thing to do
Is to let the fire burn bright
