#94 of Poetry

Poem I wrote when I was indecisive about where I wanted to go forward with in my life.

The beating in me can't decide
What it wants in life

To go in the direction of the distant past
Where love was only felt on one side
Not more of moving forward
But of what could have been

To go in the direction of the first
Missing him more than I should
Cannot help but love him still

To go in the direction of rejection
No hope for me there
But the heart yearns anyway

To go in the direction of possibility
What could happen between us?
A good friend, of course
A potential lover, maybe
But still...

To go in the direction of the taken
Waiting is a tough game
Waiting across the distance even tougher
However, knowing his worth
The potential can't be ignored

What to do, the question remains
How my heart and head spin.
