#4 of Poems

I sat down at lunch today to rework chapter 14 of a story I've been posting over on FA, but the rough draft was so bad I knew it needed a restart from scratch. So, instead, I whipped out this poem.

Absolute

* * *

by Graowf

Relentless, eternal, immutable beast,
never invited, always arriving, to feast
and to dine and devour the sweet
and the bitter, the flower and meat,
to call forth the Dragon by name.

"Nettle will sting, Foxglove destory, Jimson will kill:
beauty most sweet oft hides malevolent will.
The Dragon was born a Creature of Light,
but rained on the earth in his vanquishment flight,
he adorns even death with glamor and charm."

Riven, divided, sunderedly broken,
every wherefore of everything, silent and spoken,
bereft of Deception and brought to the fore,
its Dragon is cast from window and door
by the beneficent beast that divides by the Sword.
