"Is everything going according to plan?" a woman on a chair asked, the shadow covering her body, except for her glowing green eyes. Its narrow pupils resembled those of a snake.

An old man was the audience of the woman. His green hood failed to cover his withering white beard and his hunched back. His wrinkled hands grasped on a wooden staff, both used as a cane to ease walking and as a weapon a wizard uses to fight.

"Yes, my lady, everything is going as planned," the old man said, "We've assigned our guards to the entry points, in case one of them attempts to escape. We've also placed a colosa san memoir ward around the city, ready to activate after we were done."

"I appreciate the efforts you provided for this, Andriel," the woman replied, "But remember that we will only take ten of the potentials. We already have more than enough."

    "Yes, my lady."

"You fought at the war, correct?"

"Yes, my lady. From the beginning of it two scores ago. I still remember everything that happened, vivid in my memories."

"And that you single-handedly took out fifty mages at the Battle of Greenhold?"

"That is correct, my lady. We were ambushed by our own men. I lost my left hand in the battle." Andriel raised his left hand, which reflected the torch hanging on the wall, "Replacing it with a bionic arm, I could no longer perform as much as back then."

"Then they relieved you from the army?"

"Yes, my lady. I then became teacher in the Academy."

"Your knees are shaking, Headmaster." The wizard looked at his knees then back at the woman.

"I do not mean anything, my lady. Years of teaching kids are taking their toll. Hopefully, I die of old age and not by blade nor spell."

"Hmm, interesting. You may now leave my presence."

"Thank you, my lady." Andriel then left the dark room.

"The project is entering the final stage," the woman thought after the headmaster's footsteps faded from the hallways, "Assuming all will go well, we could finally end it."
