A poem about April’s weather meant to break the rut I was stuck in. Posted this last week on my blog site and didn’t get around to doing so here sooner because I’ve been keeping pretty busy.

The rain comes down in April

Or so they say

And yet despite multiple predictions

It didn’t come until today

It’s been a fairly dry April

All things considered

I was worried the plants were going to wither

But they haven’t as relief came

In the form of the long expected rain

It wasn’t a lot but it was enough

To help things get by

I can’t help but wonder how it took so long to come

And I can’t think of the reason why

I’m sure there is one to explain

Why lately it’s been so dry

I’m relieved to have at least gotten some rain though

To at last see one of the weather predictions come true

It’s good for plenty of things after all

Maybe with a little rain it’ll be easier to get through
