The Incident
Case # XXXX
A RunningCat Production product
2009©
Sara slides the suitcase into the trunk of her restored, for the third time, Mustang Shelby Cobra. She slams the trunk closed and gets into the drivers seat slamming the drivers door as well. Dorothy turns to her friend and opens her mouth to speak when Sara puts her hand up stopping Dorothy. So the Dalmatian turns forward and looks down as she fiddles with her fingers.
Sara pulls the car to the exit of the condo's parking garage, looking for traffic, she spots the fire crew rolling up there hoses. The fire brought three stations of fire fighters to the condominium. Several of the fire fighters being related to Dorothy in one war or another which made the incident that much worse. Sara pulls into traffic traveling away from the condominium.
Dorothy looks up as they come to a stop at a light. She stares at the light signal and takes a deep breath. "I know I have told you, I'm sorry," Dorothy begins to say in a flat monotone voice.
Sara glances over to Dorothy, unsure if she wants to listen to the canine.
"What I did was inexcusable, and yet of all the people I would hope that you would understand that it was an accident."
There is silence between the Cat and Dog as the light seams to be taking forever to change. The tension in the car can be cut with a knife. The light turns green and they do not move.
Sara turns to Dorothy "ACCIDENT!" she shouts so loud that it is heard over the horn of the person honking behind them.
Sara pulls the car to a stop before a house the two of them have been to on several occasions. A plump Dalmatian comes out to stand on the front porch. Dorothy looks at the woman, sighs softly, and gets out. She goes to the trunk and takes her suitcase out. When the Dalmatian closes the trunk she sees Sara looking back at her through the rear view mirror.
The two stare at one another for a few seconds before Sara slams the car into gear and peels away from Dorothy.
Dorothy watches the car race down the block before turning and disappearing from sight. She falls to her knees in the street crying. The woman, who moments ago was on the porch, races to Dorothy.
"There, there," the women says taking her daughter into her arms.
"Mom, I messed up," Dorothy cries. "I messed up horrible," she continues tears streaming down her muzzle.
Sara pulls the Mustang into a warehouse where she keeps vehicles, weapons, and other such items she has acquired over the years. She turns the engine off and sits in the seat her hands clenched tightly around the steering wheel.
"Why!" Sara yells while yanking at the steering column. Soon her anger boils to the point where she rips the steering wheel off the column and with her left hand uses it to smash the window. Sara turns sideways and gives the door a swift hard kick, with both feet, causing the door to fly off.
Sara gets out to look at the vehicle where upon she begins pounding away with her fist destroying the vehicle. The Mustang has become nothing more than a pile of metal as Sara is covered in a mixture of oil, grease, and blood.
Sara falls to the floor before the wreckage and begins to cry. She is not even sure why she is crying and if she has ever cried like this before.
Dorothy pushes the food around on her plate not really hungry. She would rather be in her room and cry some more. The young women looks up to the two other people at the table finding her mother and younger brother, who is home for his off week from the fire station. Watching the two of them eat just makes it so much harder for Dorothy to sit there.
"I'm going to my room," Dorothy says pushing herself away from the table.
"You barely touched your food," her mother says quit concerned for her daughter.
Dorothy stares at the meatloaf her mom had made especially for her and just can not bring herself to eat. "I'm sorry mom, I just don't feel hungry," she says and rushes out of the kitchen and up the stares. The Dalmatian doesn't even make it to the top of the stairs as she begins crying once again.
Sara gets up and goes to a foot locker and kicks it open. Inside are MREs. The black Cat takes a MRE out and tears it open.
Sara had not realize she was so hungry and returns to the foot locker to get a second MRE. As she is digs through the packages of food Sara comes across a large vanilla envelope.
"Where did this come from?" she says opening the envelope and finding it full of pictures.
Sara takes them to a desk, of sort, and begins flipping through the pictures. She finds many of them of her and wonders who took them. When Sara gets to a picture of her sleeping does she remember who took the pictures.
"Dorothy took these," she says smiling only slightly turning the picture over. "This was taken after that case that took nearly a month," she continues saying. "Dorothy was so happy to see me but all I wanted to do is sleep."
Sara turns to the next picture of her waking up and staring at the camera. The next couple of pictures are of her chasing Dorothy as Sara is only partially in the frame. This is followed by a picture of Dorothy covering her face laying on the floor as Sara has her pinned now in position of the camera.
Sara's smile increases thinking of how much fun she had. As she finishes looking at the last of the photos Sara comes across a group photo of her, Dorothy, Grandpa Panda, Chi, Jao, two of Dorothy's brothers, and ....
Dorothy pushes the scramble eggs around on her plate, her father sits across from her reading the New Furtain Bugle, her younger brother sits to her left, and surprisingly her two elder brothers are there as well. Dorothy wonders how her mother pulled this off.
"So, who is up for seconds?" Dorothy's mother asks cheerfully.
All three brothers chime in, but she seams more interested in her only daughter. The elder woman soon begins poking her husband.
"What do you want woman?" he shouts out.
The woman nods to their daughter and he looks at Dorothy as she continues pushing her food around having not taken a bite.
"Well, it's nice to have the whole family together," Dorothy's father says.
"I'm going to my room," Dorothy says getting up and proceeds to leave the dinning room table.
"Can I have her food?" Dorothy's younger brother quickly says which is followed by a smack on the head by his mother.
"Oh, for crying out loud," Dorothy's second elder brother says. "Dorothy, you have got to grow up."
"George!" their mother shouts at him in surprise.
"Well she has to hear this mom," George spouts back.
It does have the effect of stopping Dorothy. She silently cries with her back to the family.
"She should have never gotten involved with that Cat in the first place," George says. "That Feline and all them like her are no good and when Dorothy said she was moving in with that Cat we should have stopped her then."
"George, you stop speaking that way at once," their mother shouts rather loudly at him.
"Oh here it comes," George says sarcastically throwing his arms up. "Why would we ever say anything bad about Felines. We all know they are so lazy."
George is smacked across the face that causes Dorothy's father, who had return to his paper, to lower it to see what happened.
"You take that back!" Dorothy shouts.
The whole family stares at Dorothy, except George, surprised by her reaction. George slowly places a hand to the side of his face where Dorothy had slapped him feeling the welt that is rising from it.
"Sara is my best friend and a Feline at that and ... and ..," Dorothy is lost for words as she becomes so very confused.
Sara lies on her back of the warehouse floor. She holds the group photo in her hand having not wanting to give it up. It is an odd feeling Sara's experiencing. So far, as her memories go back to, she has been able to keep the people closest to her Safe. However the incident that happened a few days ago is now causing her to question how much she can actually protect them.
After a while Sara sits up and looks at the photo again.
"I better check in on him," Sara says and gets up to find a working vehicle in the warehouse.
"Dorothy ...," her father says sitting next to her in his car.
The two of them have been sitting in the car of a parking garage for some time now. Dorothy looks up from her hands and to her father. "Yes dad," she says.
"When you first brought Sara home I had several feelings that where similar to George," he tells his daughter. "Then when she pulled a gun at the party I became angry, however Henry became the focus for my anger rather than Sara ."
"I had no idea," Dorothy says looking at her father.
"If Sara had not been there to protect you things could have turned out quit differently," he continues telling Dorothy.
You have no idea, Dorothy says to herself knowing if it where not for Sara she wouldn't even be a alive for the party.
"Anyway, I soon began seeing a change in you."
"A change ...?" Dorothy says confused by his comment.
"Yes, and I will say that it is defiantly a positive."
Dorothy smiles as she has been unsure where her father is going with all this talk considering that he up and decided to take her for a drive.
"While Sara is pretty gruff, I believe that the two of you are good together."
Dorothy is suddenly taken back by her father's comment; she has always believed that he is deeply disappointment in her. However, here he is opening up to her for the first time ever.
"Dad," Dorothy says getting her father to look at her. "I appreciate the kind words, but I really messed up and now Sara hates me."
Dorothy and her father stare at one another in silence for quite some time after her omission.
Sara pulls a dust covered tarp off a bike. She had not ridden in ages do to Dorothy always worried that she might get killed while driving it. The bike is beautiful pre-Furry era Indian motorcycle. Sara finds several bullet holes in the bike caused by a bodyguard as she made her getaway after finishing a case. Looking at the bike, now, she understands how Dorothy could be so concerned as the tank has the most damage.
Sara has a sudden epiphany that Dorothy has always been worried about her and she has stood by her upon all her endeavors.
"What have I done?" Sara shouts out realizing she probably made the worst mistake ever.
Sara pulls a second tarp off another bike revealing a black Kawasaki Ninja hyper sport bike. She takes the helmet, that is next to the bike, and pulls it on. Before long Sara races through New Furtain's traffic.
I have to talk to him, Sara says to herself weaving in between two large trucks.
"Dorothy, I am here for you," her father says as the two ride up an elevator.
"What if he doesn't want to see me?" Dorothy asks twittering her thumbs nervously.
"If this man is a friend of you and Sara, and got injured saving your life I think you at least owe him a visit."
"What if Sara is there? What if she's still angry with me?"
"Well then, you will just have to be angry at her and tell her how she hurt you," Dorothy's father says as the elevator comes to a stop and the doors open.
Sara races to the entrance of the hospital only to slide the bike to a stop at the very last moment. She doesn't even attempt to put the kick stand down and races to the reception desk where a female Otter is working. Sara tosses the women her helmet causing the receptionist to have to drop the phone.
"Where is ...." Sara is saying.
Dorothy walks with her father along the quit sterile hallway with dozens of horrible thoughts racing through her head as she remembers of seeing badly burnt firefighters as a pup. Those where people she only knew through her father and grandfather. However, she is now going to see a close friend who was burnt in the process of protecting her. The Dalmatians stop outside a hospital room. Dorothy looks to her father.
"Do you want me to come in with you?" he asks.
Dorothy turns to the door and shakes her head no. She turns the handle and enters the room. The smell of disinfectant is stronger in the room. As she goes further she finds a curtain pulled around a bed. Slowly the Dalmatian pulls the curtain open and finds a unrecognizable person wrapped in bandages. Dorothy's stomach suddenly twist causing her to as thought she's going to vomit and rushes to the bathroom only to run into a wall of fur.
"I said, tell me which room Henry Teal is in?" Sara shouts pulling her gun out and points it at the Otter who is nearly crying.
"Drop the gun," Sara hears and turns to find a, Camel, hospital security guards pointing a tazer at her.
Sara realizes that she just made more trouble than she wanted. She slowly lowers the weapon. "OK, lets all calm down," Sara begins saying as the Camel is joined by a second security guard on the other side of her. "I'm sorry, I may have over done this."
"Drop the weapon on the floor," the first guards yells again.
"And place your hands on your head," the second guard adds.
"Guys please," Sara says trying to bring this tense situation to an end. "I'm sorry. My friend was admitted here and I just got over excited."
Outside, the sirens of the NFP approaching draws everyone's attention.
"Oh, for crying out load," Sara says tossing her hands in the air.
"This is your last warning," the first security guard says.
"You have no idea who you are dealing with," Sara says to the Camel guard with a low growl of frustration.
Dorothy falls backwards landing on her but. "I'm sorry," she says.
"Hey Dorothy," the person says.
The Dalmatian looks up finding Henry in a medical pants and robe. She in turn looks at the person in badges and realizes the mistake. Dorothy jumps to her feet and embraces the white Tiger in a hug.
"Hey kid, what is up?" Henry says.
"I thought that was you," Dorothy says crying into his chest while waving a hand to the much more injured patient.
Henry returns Dorothy's hug. "So where is Sara?" he asks.
Dorothy pulls away when Henry asked her the question. She just figured that Sara would have already been here if not be here already.
That is when the two of them hear sirens and go to the window of the room finding several NFP vehicles approaching the hospital; the Tiger and Dalmatian turn to one another.
"Sara," they say in unison.
Several hours later Sara, Henry, and Dorothy sit at a table of the hospital's cafeteria. There has not been a lot spoken between the black Cat and the spotted Dog in this time. Henry sips the hospital coffee.
"Blah," Henry says not liking the taste of the instant coffee having stuck out his tongue.
Dorothy chuckles a tiny bit and looks at Sara and Henry who are staring back at her. She quickly clams up only to stare into her black coffee.
"How much longer will they be keeping you here?" Sara asks Henry.
"I check out tomorrow," Henry says. "And it will not be a moment to soon."
"Do you need a ride home?" Sara asks next.
"I got a ride," he says and looks at Dorothy and sees her thoroughly sad expression. "I take it that the Condo was badly damaged," Henry adds.
"That's an understatement," Sara says rather gruffly.
Henry watches Dorothy turn so that she can't even catch Sara out of the corner of her eyes. "So where are the two of you staying?" Henry asks.
Sara coughs her answer, which Henry could not understand, while Dorothy stares off to the other side of the cafeteria where her father is seated doing his best to pretend to be reading the paper and not at her.
"OK, something is going on," Henry says turning to look at Sara and back to Dorothy.
"We are no longer living together," Dorothy says softly.
"Your not living together?" he says. "Why?"
There is silence for several long seconds before Sara and Dorothy speak at the same time.
"It's my fault that you got injured," Dorothy says.
"I put my friends in danger," Sara says.
Sara and Dorothy look at one another across the round table. Neither can believe what the other said.
Henry looks to the Cat and then to the Dog. "Well ant this a bowl full of milk," he says.
Sara and Dorothy now at Henry.
"What?" Sara says.
"It's just that ..." Henry is saying but finds it hard to explain so he begins gesturing oddly with his hands.
Sara and Dorothy begin chuckling watching Henry try and explain himself. Dorothy stares at her friend and finds the feelings she has for her are stronger now than they have ever been.
Sara stands next to her bike with Dorothy next to her.
"It's going to be some time before the condo is repaired," Sara says.
"Where did you been stay?" Dorothy asks.
"The warehouse."
"You can't stay there," Dorothy says surprising herself. "Why don't you come stay at my parents home with me?"
Sara looks at Dorothy for several long seconds knowing that Dorothy's parents would not mind her staying there. Still Sara wants to do something different. "How about we get a hotel suit; at least for the weekend?' Sara says with smile.
Dorothy thinks for a moment and decides that no matter where Sara goes she will go with her. "Sure thing," she says hugging her feline friend.
The bellman, a Groundhog, leads Sara and Dorothy to their hotel suit for which they just checked into. This four star, for which it should have five if not for being Furry run and Furry located, hotel is centrally located in New Furtain that get several celebrity Furries and rich Humans, who come to visit New Furtain, a place to stay.
Entering the suit the Groundhog shows them around the quit large, overpriced, room. There is a balcony that Dorothy stands on taking in the grand view of New Furtain. As the bellman is leaving Sara slips him a gold chip. The Groundhog looks at the small eight sided piece of precious metal. "Is this real?" he asks Sara.
Sara nods her head yes.
"If you need anything just ask for Billie and I will be happy to serve," the Groundhog says with a very wide smile at being tipped so well.
Sara nods an acknowledgment before closing the door and turning to Dorothy who comes in from the balcony. "So, what do you think?" she says.
"When you said we would be checking into a suite I did not expect to be staying at the finest hotel in all of New Furtain," Dorothy says feeling giddy.
"Well, I wanted to make it up to you for such a stupid argument."
"No, you where right," Dorothy says.
"Why don't we eat something before heading to bed," Sara says changing the subject quickly.
Dorothy blushes slightly nodding her head
The two friends order room service and sit across a table from one another eating the over priced fish and steak.
"So you have any idea who ..." Dorothy is saying running a French fry through some ketchup.
"Idea of what?" Sara says finishing her fish.
"Who might of sent the package."
"A couple, but until I get a copy of the police report I will not know where to start."
They finish their meal in silence with a wonderful dessert. Dorothy pushes the meal cart to the hall and returns finding Sara on the balcony. Dorothy puts a hand on her muzzle in thought, She begins walking to the balcony but at the last minute changes her mind grabbing her bag and heads into the smaller of the two bedrooms of the suit.
Sara turns around in time to see Dorothy go into a bedroom and close the door. Sara leans against the rail thinking of Dorothy and how she felt not having her around the previous few days.
"I was such an ass," Sara says. "Tomorrow Dorothy and I will just have fun together."
"Sara must feel like I get in her way," Dorothy says changing into some pajamas. "Still, she is my best friend and I would do anything for her because ..." she is saying but lets the thought trail off as Dorothy is unsure how she can finish the sentence.
In the morning Dorothy rises early and goes out to the suits living room. She is not sure what she expected to fine, but not finding Sara passed out on the couch is a good thing. Dorothy calls up room service and has them bring breakfast. After hanging up the phone she goes into the larger bedroom and finds Sara asleep and as usual her clothes are all over the room as Sara is sleeping in her underwear and a chemise. The Dalmatian stares at the black furred friend taking in her muscular physic. She does not even realize how long she's been staring at Sara when there is a knock on the door. Dorothy races from the bedroom so room service will not knock again and possible wake Sara.
Sara opens one eye catching Dorothy run from the room when there was a knock at the door. The black Cat stretches, doubling her length, and wonders how long her friend was watching her. She goes to the living room just as Dorothy is closing the door.
"You got breakfast," Sara says seeing the tray of food.
"Sure did," Dorothy says surprised, a little, by Sara and joins her friend at the table.
"So, what do you want to do today?" Sara asks putting a lot of lox on to a bagel so that it ends up being more lox than bagel.
Dorothy looks at her friend in wonder head tilted to one side. "I am not sure," she says.
"How about we do some shopping," Sara suggest taking a bite of lox and bagel.
"Alright," Dorothy agrees surprised for as long as she's known the black Cat Sara normally hates shopping. "Maybe we can find a dress for you to wear," Dorothy jokes.
"Alright, and tonight we will eat at the hotel's fancy restaurant."
Dorothy is in the process of pouring milk on her cereal when she stops as she can not believe her friend has agreed to buy a dress. The canine has never seen Sara in anything as feminine as a dress and wonders what could possible be up with her.
The two begin the day by window shopping; enjoying the late spring weather. Dorothy stops to stare at a elaborate dress in the window that is on a Cat mannequin. She turns to Sara to point out how her friend would look really pretty in the dress. Sara, however, watches a cherry red Corvette drive by.
Dorothy puts her hands on her hips in displeasure at how Sara reminds her more like her brothers than any girl.
"Alright Dorothy, it is time to get tough," the Dalmatian says and goes to Sara where she pulls her friend by the arm into the store.
It takes Sara a moment to realize that her friend is taking her into a fru fru store. Once inside she is attacked by a dozen flowery scents that cause her to sneeze several times as well as wrinkling up her small muzzle noise. They are not in the boutique for more than five seconds when a Collie approaches them.
"What can I do for you ladies today?" the Collie asks.
"We would like a nice dress, preferable a gown for her," Dorothy says pulling her friend forward.
Sara's eyes are huge as she takes in rack upon racks of dresses. She is beginning to quickly have second thoughts about this. Before she knows it the black Cat is pulled to be measured by her friend and the Collie employ.
After what Sara feels as though must have been most of the day, trying on several different dresses and getting all the employs of the boutique involved, the friends finally leave the shop with several dresses for Sara. Though Dorothy and the employs of the boutique think Sara looks really nice in the clothes they picked out for her; she is not to certain.
The two friends have lunch sitting at a outside café run by Mice, none of which are barely taller than Dorothy's waist.
Sara sips her catnip latté watching the people pass by seeing couples, families, and groups of friends go about their business on the fine day.
"We've never done this before," Dorothy says before biting into her hamburger.
"Done what?" Sara asks turning to her friend.
"Just hang out."
"Yes we have."
"I don't think so," Dorothy says having gulping down the hamburger.
Sara is sure they have done this before watching her friend lap her soda. As she tries to remember a specific time only to get fuzzy memories. "Well, I know we have had drinks at Henry's Café," Sara says.
"That may be true, however we where always meeting clients." Dorothy says.
Sara is just about to argue that it still counts but finding her friend smiling she decides it's not worth arguing about. "So where to next?" Sara says smiling while sipping her drink.
"Shoes," Dorothy says biting the last of her hamburger.
Sara stares at her friend knowing how a quarter of Dorothy's closet is actually filled with different shoes. Where as she has three pairs. "I am not going to like this, am I? she asks.
"Well, I don't know?" Dorothy says. "Maybe, if you would relax and enjoy yourself then you'll have fun."
Sara is not sure about that, but Dorothy is enjoying herself so she figures she can at least try as well.
Late afternoon Sara and Dorothy return to their hotel room loaded down with bags. Of all the shopping they did there was one shop that Sara really had fun at and that was a lingerie store. She had so much fun watching her friend turn red.
Dorothy view of the lingerie boutique was so very different than Sara's. It was not so much being embarrassed to be in the store but the possibility of seeing her best friend in the lingerie Sara bought there.
"I am pooped," Dorothy says dropping the bags in the living area.
"I don't know about you, but I am going to take a hot shower," Sara says taking her bags into the bedroom with her.
"Don't forget, we have dinner reservations in a few hours," Dorothy reminds her friend laying down on the couch and flipping the TV on.
"Just as long as you don't forget yourself," Sara says sticking her head out the bedroom door.
Dorothy looks upside down, catching her friend sticking the tip of her tongue out at her which gets a few chuckle from the Dalmatian. She turns on her side to watch TV for several more minutes before hearing the shower come on. She stretches and sits up. "I guess I better get cleaned up as well," she says grabbing her bags and taking them into the second bedroom.
Dorothy puckers her lips to make sure the lipstick, she just put on, looks even as she finishes dolling herself up. The last time she got this dressed up is when she was in collage and the city presented her father an award. Back then Dorothy dressed a little more conservatively than how she is dressed now, not having to worry about her mother making remarks about how she looks. It is only when Dorothy finishes putting on a necklace, that Sara gave her some time ago, does she wonder what Sara is going to think of how she's dressed.
The Dalmatian come out to the living area with her tiny purse making sure she has what she needs for the night. Dorothy looks around the room expecting to find Sara; not finding the cat she looks to the bedroom door Sara is using and finds it close. Dorothy wonders if her friend fell asleep, either on purpose or accident, so that she will have to rush getting dressed.
"Sara, are ready? Dorothy asks slowly opening the door.
"Don't come in," Sara calls back quickly
"Why? What's wrong?"
"Nothing!"
Dorothy does not believe that as she heard in Sara's voice what can only be described as stress. "Something is wrong," she says to herself. "I'm coming in," she calls out opening the door to a darkened room. She spots a light from a connected room and Dorothy figures that is the bathroom. The Dalmatian finds Sara seated in front a large vanity mirror and makeup spread out all over the table with Sara wrapped in a long towel from the breast down.
Dorothy finds her friend staring at the directions of some makeup in one hand and another type of makeup in the other. The black Cat keeps looking from one product to the next before dropping it and grabbing another product. Dorothy has never seen her friend like this so confused, so flustered, so ... completely out of her element.
"Sara are you alright?" Dorothy asks.
"Dorothy," Sara say surprised to see her friend as she blushes in embarrassment. "It's just ... I have ... I don't ..." she says flustered.
Dorothy has never seen her friend so nervous and confused. It takes a moment for the Dalmatian to realize that Sara quit possible has never used makeup. "Here, let me help," she says taking an eyeliner.
Sara sits still as her friend applies makeup to her. She fells so embarrassed for she thought that somehow she would naturally know how to use the products, after all she is a girl and figured that all girls naturally know how to do this type of thing.
After several minutes Dorothy finishes her job. It's not much since Sara has such dark black fur, still she thinks that her friend looks rather pretty.
Sara looks at herself in the mirror and though she knows that it is her she looks a little more feminine. "Thank you," she says to Dorothy as the two look at one another in the mirror with Dorothy having one hand on Sara's shoulder. Sara places a hand on top of Dorothy's hand.
The Dalmatian looks at Sara's hand and feels an electrical shock as the fur on her neck stands up. "I'll let you finish up," she says leaving Sara her heart having skipped a beat.
Dorothy looks at the little wrist watch wondering how much more time they have in order to make their reservation when Sara comes out of the bedroom.
"So, how do I look?" Sara asks.
Dorothy looks at her friend, as she has on a red sparkling dress that has a slit running up one leg, a wide strap over one should, and showing just the top of her breast. It takes Dorothy a moment to realize how absolutely beautiful her friend is and that she is just stunning.
"So," Sara says turning around so that Dorothy can see how wonderful the dress is on her as though it had been especially made for Sara.
"I am at a lost for words," Dorothy says.
"Oh, I look bad," Sara says rejected "this is a bad idea" and begins to make a mad dash to the bedroom.
Dorothy stops Sara by grabbing her arm. "No, you look ..." she pauses "perfect," she finally says.
Sara turns to her friend blushing to where she is on the verge of crying. "Thank you dear friend," she says embracing Dorothy.
Dorothy closes her arms around her friend her heart racing at being so close to Sara and given how only days ago she thought that the black Cat hated her; Dorothy feels closer to Sara than she has since they first meet. Actually she feels something beyond friendship for Sara for she feels ....
Sara and Dorothy step off the elevator and walk the short distance to the five paw restaurant that is part of the hotel. As they walk Dorothy has her head hanging down trying to come to terms with these strong feelings she has and how she might explain them to Sara. What scares her though is the possibility that Sara may not want to be her friend anymore if she tells the Cat her feelings.
Sara feels odd as the men they pass to the restaurant stare at her and Dorothy. Normally she would be suspicious of them, but Sara believes it is how they are dressed that is drawing their attention. Being as she is unsure of herself, an odd feeling for Sara, she finds her friend is quit beautiful for how she is dressed.
The doorman opens the door for Sara and Dorothy where upon they get even more looks from the people waiting to be seated as they walk to the maîtri Ä.
"We have reservations for two under the name Black," Sara tells the tuxedo dressed Weimaraner
maîtri Ä.
"Ah yes," he says. "It shall be but a few minutes."
"We will be in the bar," Sara says.
"I shall get you as soon as your table is ready madam," the maîtri Ä says politely.
"Well, he is polite," Sara says as the two go into the bar and find a seat. She notices that Dorothy looks as though she is down. "Hey, are you alright?"
"What?" Dorothy says being deep in thought.
"I was wondering what is up with you?"
"Oh, it's nothing," Dorothy says deciding to put her feelings on hold for the time being as a waitress comes to take their drink orders. They order glasses of the house wine; though Sara wanted a beer Dorothy is able to talk her out of that.
As they sit and sip the wine waiting for their table Sara can not help but take in her surroundings. It is two woman, who's male companies just left them, that draws her interest and she focuses in on them so that she can hear why they are talking about her and Dorothy.
"Can you believe it. A Feline and Canine coming into a place with this much class together," the woman who is a Pug says.
"Well you know they have got to be prostitutes," the other woman says who is a Bulldog.
Dorothy looks up from her glass of wine finding Sara staring intensely behind her. She turns to see two older Canine women talking and knows right away that Sara is listening in on their conversation.
"Hey Sara," Dorothy says waving her hand before her friend.
This breaks Sara ability and returns her attention to Dorothy. "What?" she asks.
"This is just about the two of us," Dorothy says.
Sara sighs realizing that her friend is right and it doesn't matter what other people say. "You are right Dorothy," she says raising her glass.
Dorothy raises her glass and they clink them together as the two friends smile at one another. It is not long after that the maîtri Ä seats them at their dinning table.
Dorothy notices that the chairs in the restaurant are designed to make a furry comfortable while seated. While it is common to see most Furries with long tails tuck them in such a way that their tail lays next to them as they sit; but here they do not even have to think about it.
"Madames, may I tell you our specials for the night?" their waiter says shortly after they have been seated.
"Sure," Sara says.
Dorothy opens her menu and does not hear what the waiter says as she can only see the prices on the two page menu.
"I shall give you two a moment to decide," the waiter finishes saying leaving the two to make up their minds.
"Sara, have you seen these prices?" Dorothy asks softly leaning over the table.
Sara opens the menu glances at it a moment then looks at her friend. "Ignore them," Sara says.
"But ...," Dorothy tries saying however.
"Ignore them," Sara says interrupting her with a smiling smirk.
Dorothy returns to the menu and sees all the wonderful food but as much as she tries she can not not ignore the prices.
What is odd is when they where shopping earlier in the day they spent, at a minimum, four times the possible cost of the meal and this makes Dorothy think of how she has spent so much of her friends money and not once has Sara ever asked her to pay for anything.
"Are you ready to order?" the waiter asks bringing Dorothy back to the dinner.
"I will have the fish special," Sara says.
"Dorothy looks at the menu and finds the least expensive thing. "I will have the chief salad," Dorothy orders.
The waiter begins writing down the order when Sara speaks up. "Are you sure?" she says staring at her friend knowing that the salad is the least expensive item on the menu.
"Yes," Dorothy says timidly.
"No," Sara says knowing what Dorothy said is lie. "She will have the filet mignon," she tells the waiter.
The waiter turns to Dorothy to see if she is going to object. "Very good then," he says when Dorothy says nothing taking the menus.
When the waiter is gone Dorothy softly begins speaking. "Why did you do that?" she asks.
"Because, that is what you really wanted," Sara answers.
"But the cost and everything," Dorothy says stammering.
"Like I said, don't worry about it."
"It's not just dinner. It's everything you have payed ... no, you have paid for everything and I suddenly feel like ..." Dorothy says trailing off.
Sara looks upset and Dorothy is afraid that she hurt her friend once again. The Dalmatian feels as though she needs to say something but is unsure of what.
"Dorothy," Sara says softly "do you remember when we first meet?"
"Yes, you stopped those men from raping me," Dorothy says wondering why Sara is bringing this up after all these years.
"At the time I did not care if they had raped you or not," Sara says.
Dorothy is unsure how to respond so continues listening.
"Then I brought you to my home and you walked out just as it began to rain. You took a seat against the neighboring building to stay out of the rain."
Dorothy nods her head agreeing with everything Sara has said so far.
"Well from that moment on I promised myself that I would never put you out in the rain as you became my best friend."
Dorothy wonders if perhaps Sara does have the same feelings for her as she does for the Cat.
"I had forgotten that, until a few days ago when I found these," Sara says taking an envelope out of her purse and handing it to Dorothy.
Dorothy opens the envelope and finds it full of pictures from that first year that they lived together and the smiling laughter from Sara, her teeth white and sharp, which are found in all the pictures of the two of them together.
"We have had some close close calls and I do not have all the facts of my past but there has always been one person I have always counted on," Sara says.
"Henry," Dorothy says.
"No silly, it has always been you," Sara says figuring Dorothy was joking. "I have a vast fortune, although I am not certain where it came from, and I am willing to spend it with you at my side."
Dorothy dabs her eyes with her napkin as she begins tearing up.
Sara raises her glass and Dorothy copies her. "To our friendship," she says.
"And may it go forward from here," Dorothy says.
Sara turns her head to one side in curious thought about Dorothy's last words. "What do you mean by that?" Sara says still holding her glass.
"Um ... never mind," Dorothy says clinking her glass against Sara's and follows it up with a rather quick swig of her wine.
Sara's eyes become wide as she has never seen her friend drink so quickly.
By the time dinner comes the two friends had polished off a bottle of wine that Sara ordered after their toast. Sara can already see that her spotted friend is getting a little drunk but with their room in the hotel Sara sees no problems with Dorothy getting goofy.
As the two friends finish their desert Sara, who is unaffected by the alcohol, finds that Dorothy is really loosing it.
"Sara ... Sara ... Sara," Dorothy says trying to point her finger at her friend. "I have ... I have ...." Dorothy then looks at her finger and begins giggling.
Sara is now certain that they should have stopped at two bottles, but Dorothy was so insistent that she is fine they added a third bottle. "Dorothy, are you going to be alright?" she asks.
"What?" the Dalmatian says looking back to her friend and a sudden realization comes over her that she must tell Sara what is on her mind right away. "I love you," Dorothy says with a slur in her voice.
"OK, know I know something is not right."
Dorothy awkwardly bobs her head yes and Sara feels that she must get her spotted friend back to their room.
As Sara signs the bill Dorothy stares at her friend, glossy eyed. Dorothy feels so happy that she finally told Sara her feelings.
"Thank you, and you have wonderful evening," the waiter says.
"We shall," Dorothy says with an odd gleam in her eye.
"Alright, time to get you to the room," Sara says.
"Yes, our room."
Dorothy stands up, stumbling a little bit only to be caught by Sara who holds her in her arms. Dorothy smiles looking up at Sara and suddenly she gives her friend a small peck of a kiss.
Sara pulls her head back in surprise looking at Dorothy with a silly grin. She then looks around the restaurant wondering if people are staring. Finding that most of the other patrons are pretty much ignoring the two of them.
"Let's go," Sara says now particularly carrying, particularly dragging her friend.
"Oh wait." Dorothy says turning back to their table and grabbing her little purse and the half full bottle of wine.
With some coaxing Sara gets her friend to their hotel room. She leans Dorothy against the wall to uses the key card to open the door. When Sara looks back she finds the Dalmatian drinking from the wine bottle . "You are going to get sick," Sara says taking her friend into the room and kicking the door close behind her. "Sara," Dorothy says stumbling away from her friend. "Do you love me?"
Sara is surprised by the question, not sure if it's the alcohol or Dorothy asking the question. "Well, there are many factors to think of," Sara says.
"Whaa..." Dorothy says confused, not only by Sara's answer but if perhaps Sara did not understood her simple question. She looks at the black Cat and blinks several times wondering if the redness in Sara's face is from blushing or anger.
"I do not understand the feelings I have," Sara says.
Dorothy, while still being drunk, seams to understand Sara's feelings. She puts the wine bottle down and takes her friends hand and leads her into the bedroom Sara has been using with it's large bed.
Sara goes with Dorothy, her heart racing as they enter the bedroom. They make their way across the room to the bed where upon Dorothy gently kisses her on the cheek and again on the lips. The second kiss last a very long time; Sara's heart races in the excitement of the moment. The feelings she is experiencing are beyond anything she has ever felt with.
Dorothy runs a hand gently over Sara's shoulder sliding the strap of the dress off Sara's shoulder causing the dress to slide off her. Sara follows her friends example placing her hands on Dorothy's shoulders and slides the spaghetti straps of Dorothy's dress off. The dress does not come completely off, like Sara's did, as it is still being held up by the zipper. Sara quickly figures what to do; she embraces her Dalmatian friend so that Dorothy's arms are over Sara's shoulders. This makes it easy for Sara to unzip Dorothy's dress where it now is only being held up only by the two friends being so close together.
"Sara," Dorothy whispers in her friends ear "I have been waiting for this moment for a long time."
Sara looks sideways to her friend where upon Dorothy kisses her even deeper and longer than before. After several dozen heavy heart beats they break apart.
"Dorothy, there is something I need to tell you."
"Can it wait? I do not want to spoil this moment."
Sara nods her head yes and the two finally make enough space between them for Dorothy's dress to fall to the floor.
The Canine and Feline now stand nearly naked before one another with the light from the living area coming through the open bedroom door. Dorothy presses her body against Sara feeling her friends soft fur against her own. Dorothy slowly runs her hand up along Sara's side tracing her friends body until she gets to the side of her breast. Dorothy slowly runs her hand around the firm large objects of pleasure.
Dorothy is unsure how well she is doing but the fact that Sara's breathing is increasing in intensity she figures she is doing something right,
Sara places her hand over Dorothy's as the pleasure increases and is unlike anything she has felt before. Their fingers intertwine as Dorothy spreads her fingers and with two fingers gently teases Sara's nipple. The Cat gasp with the increased excitement. With her free hand Sara places it under Dorothy's chin so they might stare at one another deeply. Sara places a kiss on Dorothy's lips and, surprising herself, she pushes her rough tongue into Dorothy's mouth where their two tongues slowly dance with one another.
Dorothy and Sara lay on the bed after breaking from the intense passionate kiss. Dorothy is unsure of how to proceed or how far Sara is willing to carry this out to so she figures that she will just go with her instincts. With that the Dalmatian places her mouth over one of Sara's breast and slowly drags her tongue around the nipple.
This gets a surprising long low moan from Sara as her body responds to her friends passion. Her breathing increases and a feeling of wetness comes from between her legs.
Dorothy gently runs a hand along Sara's side and down to the top of her friends sexy panties, that the Dalmatian was so embarrassed about earlier. The Dalmatian gently runs the tips of her fingers along the top of the panties and to her friends flat, tight, muscular stomach. While at the same time she lets her mouth slowly drift away from the nipple, she was licking a moment ago, only to catch the nipple on her front teeth and gently tug at the extremely hard nipple.
Sara moans a resounding glee of pleasure as her body tingles all over. The pleasure is incredible that she begins purring as her body continues climbing and climbing to something she has to believe that she has never felt before for this is a feeling so incredible that it can not be something easily forgotten.
Dorothy runs a hand beneath Sara's panties down to where she finds her friend to be quit moist between her legs. Dorothy slides her fingers along Sara's vagina getting a load pleasurable moan from her. The Dalmatian is not ready to have Sara finish as Dorothy want to make her friend to pleasured unlike any way that she might have been pleasured in her life. So the Dalmatian kiss her friend neck, then her shoulder, and continues slowly down her friends body.
Sara experiences is incredible, her whole body tingles to every touch, every kiss that her canine companion places on her. She just does not understand how such wonderful pleasures can be brought by the simplest of touches. As her breathing slows she feels slide a finger into her vagina and her thumb pressed against the clitoris.
Slowly Dorothy runs her finger in and out of her friends wet vagina. She feels her friend's tight hole slowly expand giving her the ability to insert a second finger causing the feline's hips to jump and making it so the Dalmatian's fingers slide in pass the second knuckle. This is when Dorothy finds that her friends hymen is still intact.
Dorothy always figured that Sara was so much more experienced for the world. It suddenly dawns on Dorothy that this could possible be Sara's first sexual encounter.
Sara's body comes to a crashing halt as every muscles tightens to the overwhelming feeling of pleasure encompasses her. In that moment a spark occurs in her brain of a memory that of a Human woman all in white. Sara seams to be looking up at the woman as Sara is being rocked in the arms of the Human. For that moment Sara tries to focus on the woman's face but it fades as her muscles slowly relax and her breathing returns to normal.
Sara looks at her friend as Dorothy has just given her two incredible presents . "Thank you," she says.
Dorothy is curious about how Sara's first orgasm was. It has been such a long since she has ever had an orgasm that would cause her body to react in the same way.
Sara pulls her friend close to her in a gentle protective embrace. She know wants to return the experience that Dorothy just gave her but is unsure how to begin.
Dorothy pulls away slightly to stare at her friend who seams to be caught in deep though. "What are you thinking?" she ask softly.
"I want to return the favor of intense pleasure that you gave me but I ..." Sara is saying but trails off.
"How about I give you some instruction," Dorothy says smiling at her confused friend.
Sara nods yes while smiling at the fact that Dorothy is not displeased that she is not good at this.
"Alright, the first thing is that it often is started with a kiss," Dorothy instructs.
Sara nods understanding that at least. With her friends instruction the black Cat gently kisses her friend upon the lips. From there Dorothy instructs her friend on how she can go about pleasuring her. It feels odd for Dorothy to have Sara following her instructions. The Cat nips at her ear then kisses her way down the Dalmatians body until Sara gets to the smallish breast and Sara licks a nipple, her rough tongue causing Dorothy to jump to the intense pleasure that she was not expecting.
Sara moves away from Dorothy as her friends body jumped when she ran her tongue over her friends nipple. Sara believes she just did something wrong as this was not something that her friend didn't instruct her to do, however when Dorothy did the same to her she enjoyed it immensely. Now she wonders if perhaps she did it wrong.
"Why did you stop?" Dorothy ask realizing that Sara has moved away.
"I thought I did something wrong," Sara says concerned.
Dorothy looks lovingly at her friend and smiles batting her eyes. "No, you did nothing wrong. That was my body just reacting to your loving touch."
Pleased with the knowledge that she did nothing wrong Sara returns to licking one breast then the other. Her prickly tongue causing even more excitement through out Dorothy as her breathing increases in intensity,
Dorothy slides both her hands down between her legs pressing her fingers against her pussy. Every now and again she would press the nub, that is her clitoris. Soon the Dalmatian is breathing even harder as she inches up to an explosive orgasm. The explosive feeling causes her body to become stiff as a board as Dorothy presses her button wanting the excitement of the moment to last forever. As the orgasm subsides she is slowly drifting off to sleep but not before uttering some last words to Sara. "Thank you my tough kitty friend. I love you so much," Dorothy finishes exhausted and falls asleep.
Dorothy wakes slowly as sunlight comes through a small opening of the curtains. Her body feels so relaxed as she slept so deeply last night. The intimacy she shared with Sara can only have brought them closer together do to the wonderful shared experience of ecstasy. The Dalmatian does not want to open her eyes as the euphoric feeling she is experiencing is so great.
However Dorothy slowly opens her eyes as the euphoria begins drifting away. She looks at her nightstand and finds that most of the morning has already passed. She closes her eyes laying in her bed not wanting to get up, but just wanting to hold onto last nights experience as long as she can.
Then, and quit suddenly, Dorothy's eyes pop open and she sits up in her bed. Something does not feel right. She throws the covers off her and runs out of her room and looks around the condo finding it just like it has always been and not a trace of damage from an explosion. Dorothy is confused as she continues turning and finds Sara in her typical relaxed dress of white tank top, cotton panties, reading the newspaper, and sipping a coffee drink.
Sara looks at her friend who seams to be very confused. "You sure slept in a long time," she says. "I had a heck of a time making the coffee as I did not want to wake you."
Dorothy stares at the Cat and a thousand thoughts race through her head. The most prudent one being 'could that have all been a dream.'
Epilogue:
Later in the day Dorothy sits before her computer station and every now and again glances over to Sara who has several hand guns on the table as she cleans them. Dorothy has come to the realization that all that happened was a dream and the intense physical feelings she has for Sara had finally come a boil in one intense dream. Now the Dalmatian is not sure what to do about them. For the time being she feels that she'll keep them to herself and hopes that someday the incident can be acted upon.
